The Lyric Theatre needs your help to upgrade our projection system, or Hollywood will force us to go dark. This project is not an optional upgrade. We wish this were as easy and inexpensive as going down to Best Buy and getting a couple of laptops and routers. Alas, this required evolution into the digital age is costing us $120,000 – an enormous sum for our little operation! This past year we have made a lot of progress toward this funding, but we need you help us run the final lap.
For the past 85 years, The Lyric Theatre has been a hub of community gatherings for live performances and movie experiences. How will this investment ensure that The Lyric will continue to provide our community, both young and old, with this rich and shared neighborhood spot?
The good news is that this is a ONE-TIME fix! Once we upgrade to this new system, we will be able to offer the community access to new programming, with amazing audio and visual quality. That said, we sure will miss those beautiful 35mm projectors. Check out this amazing rendering drawn years ago by one of our projectionists and a local artist, Steve Tipsword. We have fondly named this dynamic duo "Hortense and Murgatroid"... Cool, huh?

Risks and challenges
The biggest challenge we face is not successfully funding this campaign. We are being forced to make this upgrade by Hollywood. We will literally not be able to show movies, unless we make this investment. That is why your help is so important.
