An Uncanny Magazine Year One Thank You
Dear Original Space Unicorn Ranger Corps,
As many of you might have heard, Uncanny Magazine is now a Finalist for both the Hugo and World Fantasy Awards. This is in addition to Amal El-Mohtar's "Pockets" and Sam J. Miller's "Heat of Us: Notes Toward an Oral History" both being Finalists for the World Fantasy Award, Hao Jingfang's "Folding Beijing" (translated by Ken Liu) being a finalist for the Hugo, Locus, and Theodore Sturgeon Awards, and Tran Nguyen's Uncanny Magazine Issue 4 cover being the Winner of a Spectrum 23 Award and a Chesley Award Finalist.
So far, pieces from Uncanny Magazine Year One are finalists for 14 different awards and have been included in 6 separate Year's Best anthologies.
This is a phenomenal achievement for our first year of existence, and we couldn't have done it without you. This is your magazine. Our community of Kickstarter Backers, the original Space Unicorn Ranger Corps, made it possible for our remarkable staff and contributors to create this wonderful art for all of our readers.
Thank you for having faith in us and becoming stakeholders in this dream.
We are about to start the Uncanny Magazine Year Three Kickstarter. We hope you will consider rejoining us for the next adventure.
Shine on, Space Unicorns!
Lynne, Michael, and Caitlin Thomas
