Feminist Playing Cards is the latest project of Homoground, a music website that promotes visibility for minority musicians. The deck will feature custom illustrations of 52 feminist musicians drawn by 14 feminist artists. Be sure to watch the video to see a few samples of the artists' work. The artists involved are:
Emily Henderson, Andrea Rae Georgas, Ramsey Beyer, Lauren Denitzio, Liz Prince, Marissa Paternoster, Clare Brown, Maggie Owsley, Brandi Lee, Cristy Road, Ginny Maki, Citizen A, Martha Rich and Kay Kelley.
These cards are being created RIGHT NOW. So keep checking back to see the progress of the cards and new reward levels as we get the project rolling!
Check out the UPDATES tab for the latest news!
The goal of $12,000 is the least amount we need to produce and manufacture the cards. The more money we raise, the more we will be able to do (T-shirts, Art shows, etc). And the sooner we hit the goal, the sooner you'll be able to see the finished deck!
Here's some of the completed drawings so far!
Beth Ditto by Brandi Lee
Nicole Georges by Liz Prince
Yoko Ono by Ginny Maki
Joanna Newsom by Kay Kelley
Edith Piaf by Marissa Paternoster
Tori Amos by Andrea Rae Georgas
