We're very close to our Steam Beta milestone! Still doing a few bits of fixing and polishing, but I promise we won't be in Alpha forever. Video update coming next week or so...

      Hey there guys.

Its been some time since i stoped playing the game and now im back.

Just want to know how i can get all the remaining perks from by pledge. I pledged for Early Bid Centurion and i still dont have the Supporter badge and one of the Legendary emotes (salt shaker would be my option).

Hearthstone's cards have a HUGE range of artstyles ranging from really cartoony (e.g. http://www.hearthhead.com/card=296/kill-command) to hyper-realistic (e.g. http://www.hearthhead.com/card=748/kirin-tor-mage). Their consistency mostly comes from the colour palettes, UI, animations, and non-card elements that bind everything together. You'll probably see about that range of style in Prismata's units, with the vast majority of units erring toward the current look, or perhaps a bit more realistic (there will be very few units as cartoony as Hearthstone's Kill Command card).

We do have a style guide and of course expressiveness and aesthetics often clash, but we've done a lot of experimentation on our own, and with the smaller size of the units on the Prismata battlefield, we can get away with a little more than other games. Because the units don't have individually painted backgrounds, memorable and iconic shapes and silhouettes do most of the work in communicating the units to the players while preserving aesthetics.

I'm happy to hear you guys are intending to improve the graphics to compete with AAA titles like Hearthstone. I just wanted to make one comment, pertaining to your plans around the card graphics themselves. One of the most appealing aspects to Hearthstone's art is the consistency it all has, thematically as well as stylistically. It all hits a very specific mixture of cartoonish realism (which I think is a fair description). Where players express their own individuality is in acquiring golden cards, which animate, and in which card backs to display. All card backs, you'll note, are stylistically consistent and meet the same aesthetic standard and quality as all the others (though some are a bit flashier or even animated). Consistency is the key word here, throughout. The art follows unified and consistent guidelines and it really adds to the polish and attractiveness of the game. I am concerned that by introducing different styles of artwork in your own game will produce a jarring and unpleasant effect, contributing to an overall feeling of aesthetic disunity and ugliness. Even though an individual illustration may be fine by itself, when contrasted against a completely different style (say 'realism' vs 'anime'), I can only imagine the effect to be quite off-putting. You can't underestimate the importance of aesthetic coherence and unity.

      Hi everybody!

Funding has been ended a week ago, is there any news about when 329 backers without INSTANT ALPHA ACCESS will receive their keys? Assuming that another 3454 backers have already got keys this delay seems to me very strange, don't you think so?

    18. Lunarch Studios Creator on December 23, 2014

@everyone talking about hitting the goal exactly...

Your guess is as good as mine. Honestly, I have no idea. My guess it that some people withdrew their pledges at the last minute and it might have gone "under" 140,000 due to some kind of race condition/lack of a mutex on the money, even though it's not supposed to go under. Then Kickstarter just displays it as $140k.

What Robert posts below is indeed my quote from reddit. People taking shit out at the last minute... damn. Not worth it to give everyone a heart attack like that, not everone knows that it's guaranteed to fund!

Hello, so I've been playing for a while since I got into this game about a month ago in a giveaway and about a week ago I pledged to this campaign. I pledged enough so that the account would get a free arena run a week, or something to that effect. So I was wondering, can that arena a week be transferred to the account I've been playing on for the last month? Or do I have to start a new account with one of the beta keys I recently got?

      Elyot on reddit:

"I was talking about this on stream...
Kickstarter is weird sometimes. 2 days before the Kickstarter ended, we actually had a person give us $8k (the max allowed for a CAD Kickstarter) and then take it out a few hours later (I think they were a troll?) Then today, we had another backer who had put in a crazy high amount early on in the Kickstarter suddenly pull out their money and paypal it to us instead.
Of course, they were only trying to help, and it actually does save a few hundred in Kickstarter fees.
Anyways, the good news is that we have over $9k in Paypal. I mentioned on stream that we were maybe $700 short of hitting the $150k stretch goal if everything is combined. Actually, the Paypal amount really should get like +6% because of how much less the fees are than Kickstarter, so really we have essentially hit $150k.
We can leave Paypal open for a few more days and hit it."

@Dan Craig I wasn't suggesting the devs were being shady. I was suggesting that maybe they had to funding it partial at the end. But you pointed out that this was not the case.

Sorry for being stupid and pointless.

" You can change or cancel your pledge at any time before the project’s funding deadline (with one exception). You can increase, decrease, or cancel your pledge at any time during the campaign, with one exception. During the last 24 hours of the campaign, you can’t decrease or cancel your pledge without contacting customer support first — if that action would drop the project below its funding goal. Once the project has been funded, you can only cancel or change your pledge by making special arrangements directly with the creator. "

      -- https://www.kickstarter.com/terms-of-use Chapter 5 How Funding Works

    28. Dan Craig on December 20, 2014

@Downward Viral: Elyot, one of the lead devs, said it on his stream about half an hour ago. I'm not sure where you'd find it in the KS documentation.

I think this talk about the devs doing something shady with the funding is kind of stupid, ie. pointless speculation. He mentioned there was one whale who made a very large pledge who was moving his money over to Paypal in the last few hours so that might explain some of it. Paypal went up almost as quick as the KS funds were going down so there could have been a few people switching for whatever reason.

    29. Downward Viral on December 20, 2014

@Dan Craig -- May I ask for a citation on funds being locked at the 24 hour countdown? Not that I am doubting you, I'd just never heard that and I can't find it documented anywhere in the Kickstarter Creator Guide. :)

    30. Lucas Souberck Costa Pereira on December 20, 2014

pledges sum ~134k , maybe they completed it

    31. Corey Bunnell on December 20, 2014

I know early bird and higher tiers get alpha access, but do us cheapies (under 17 CAD) also get access (if the server allow it?)

    32. Slaytanic on December 20, 2014

      Strange, very strange finish.

    33. Xstar on December 20, 2014

Didn't know that, guess I hadn't had to be concerned about it then. Thanks for letting me know !

@Corey yes that was exactly my thought

    34. Corey Bunnell on December 20, 2014

Yeah the project was funded already yesterday, so they just wanted to use the bare minimum of their own money. Which anybody in their right mind would do. They probably had people on like 6 different internet connections, everyone on skype with a plan to make sure the game got funded. While they were cutting it close, they are smart guys and wouldn't let that happen.

    35. Dan Craig on December 20, 2014

Funding is locked in last 24 hours if you reached the goal.

    36. Xstar on December 20, 2014

Well we will never know. Someone said earlier that 6k suddenly disappeared for whatever reason. I think everyone can take a wild guess as to why Lunarch would do something like this, but I'm very irritated either way. Someone just had to cancel their pledge last second and the whole project would have been in danger.

In the end everything turned out (hopefully as planned) but some questions still remain. Anyways congratulations on reaching exactly the funding goal.

1 dollar would blow up everything
