There is more that separates Go85 and Go120 than just their heights (85cm & 120cm). We carefully optimized both models for specific demands.
Lumapod Go85
We relentlessly designed Go85 to be as compact and lightweight as humanly possible without compromising on quality or performance. The result is a perfect travel buddy for your smartphone, GoPro and cameras that weigh up to 1kg / 2.2lbs.
Unlike Go120, it does not have interchangeable legs. However, it is equipped with integrated terrain levelers to accommodate for those situations with uneven ground.
Lumapod Go120
Go120 has all the benefits of Go85 but with an overall larger height and build that will support cameras that weigh up to 2kg /4.4lbs.
In addition, Go120 has modular leg extensions which creates a wide-range of possibilities for adaptability. It currently comes standard with terrain leveling extensions.
Easily turn your Go120 into a slider with the add-on dolly wheel extensions.
Or utilize the stake extensions for soft grounds, sand and snow.
Breakdown - Choose Lumapod if you’re looking for better speed, compactness, weight and the adaptability of different leg extensions. Choose a standard tripod if you need extra stability and additional terrain flexibility.
Lumapod is compact with more height, better stability and offers the benefit of having both tripod and selfie mode.
Lumapod offers the same selfie capability but with all the benefits of a stable tripod as well.
Have you ever wondered why all tripods look the same? Is there really only one design that works? We challenged this theory and worked tirelessly to design Lumapod different.
There is a simple mechanical principle behind our design: replace compression parts (traditional legs) with tensioning components (Kevlar Ropes). Perhaps it’s easier to understand when compared to something everyone knows:
Much like how the mast on a sailboat withstands wind with its tensioned ropes, we use the same theory to achieve stability. It’s no rocket science but the key to our design is being able to lock and tension Lumapod in any position.
Lumapod’s stability isn’t just by luck. We did extensive research and testing to measure the vibrations and damping of many tripods. Our electro-mechanical test setup enabled us to optimize Lumapod and ensure it is as stable as possible.

Risks and challenges
We have made it our priority from the very beginning to develop the best tripod possible and mitigate any risks we can. With that said; The Lumapod prototypes used in the campaign might be subject to minor adjustments if improvement with either stability, versatility, design or overall use of the product can be found helpful.
The timeline for production and final delivery have been very carefully calculated based on realistic data and estimations. If, for some reason something changes or alters this timeline, we promise to make it our highest priority to communicate these updates to our backers. In fact, we will monitor and provide updates on all important activities throughout the entire process. Thank you.
