As stated by George Lakoff and Mark Johnson "Love is a collaborative work of art," and we couldn't agree more.
We are Amanda Madrigal and Jovan Villalba, two Miami-based artists. We love each other, we love making art, and we love life. And we stand by our motto, “Luhv works” because we see it and experience it every day. Love works because it's a joint effort – a global effort. This is our inspiration for Luhv Works, our collaborative effort in creating images that are both harmonious and meticulously composed. Our process incorporates skills we’ve developed independently over many years, including drawing, inking, collage, and embroidery. Exploring the possibilities of our combined practices we convey feelings of love through the unique depiction of rich, unified figures.
Our art is ultimately what brought us together, so it only makes sense for it to be the vessel in which we express that love to the world. So let us share our story with you, as we become part of yours!
For the first time our vision will be actualized as mixed media images that we are now presenting to you as limited edition, fine art prints.
We chose to create prints for one reason – to make the work accessible. It is essential to our mission that we have the opportunity to share Luhv Works with as many people as possible. It is our hope that having a Luhv Works piece in your home or office serves as a delightful reminder that Luhv does Work!
This limited edition print run of our first five works is only the beginning of this venture. Luhv Works is about how we live and think about our world and each other. And our goal is to see it flourish into a global (Art=Luhv) inspired brand.
We have selected five original compositions to be printed on high-quality matte paper using archival Epson ink. Each print will be hand numbered, dated and signed. Sizes and quantities are listed to your right in the support column.
Each image will have a limited print run as follows: 8" x 10" (x300); 11" x 14" (x200) 16" x 20" (x100). We expect to have all orders printed, packaged and delivered no later than October 15th, 2018.
