Gear & Piston: The Americans

(crossposted with the Byzantio campaign, apologies to those who receive it twice, but this info applies to both campaigns)

Remember when we said that we might have something more material for you as a thank-you for the delay in shipping the USA-bound rewards? In that same update we posted a video of 10000 Japanese singing Beethoven's 9th.

This update is a little different, it's more like this:

Not being able to knock both out of the park the first time round just because of the ball boys were slow kinda stings.

Yeah, sure, there's that coupon, but we're in the business of making games, not coupons. So, we decided to make some more game for you. It's not much, but it's what we could do at short notice (thanks Jukka & Lefteris!). For the week before we found DSV, while we were evaluating alternatives to Game Salute, we were also developing with the designers a little material to thank you for your patience.

So, here's what we are going to do:

For Gear & Piston backers we are happy to announce The Americans, two special tiles produced for the occasion of this delay. They are to be one investor and one engineer assistant.

For Byzantio / Nekken backers, we will produce 9 new event tiles, which can be mixed in with the existing event tiles and make the game richer.

Now, here's the catch - there's no money to do this. If there was, we would have flown to Germany (yes, it was an option!) and fulfilled those rewards ourselves. But good thing that there's a crowdfunding platform around here somewhere.

So, we'll do a KS campaign for them. The tiles are for everyone, but USA-based backers will receive the tiles for a grand total of $1 per set, the minimum pledge reward we can set. Everyone else will be able to get them for $5 during the campaign (they'll probably go for more later).

We will reveal specifics about how the tiles will look like through the campaigns, although there's now pages for both sets on BGG, which should give you some idea about what they do.

As soon as the campaigns go live, we will send out a newsletter blast, so if you have not already done so (most of you did, through the backer surveys), sign up for it at http://ludicreations.com/newsletter, so that you are always the first to know when a new game of ours goes live on Kickstarter.

      > If we are receiving 3 copies can we triple our pledge and get 3?
Cynthia, if you mean 3 copies of The Americans, yes - see the Limits & Multiple copies section on the campaign page. Also, the Americans campaign itself would be the best place to post comments & questions.

Ah, you mean Amazon Payments? They take about 5%. KS also takes 5%.

Do you mean Overheated/Engineer Assistants? If so, then yes, you are all getting those.
