ABOUT OUR PROJECT
Imagine gathering around the classroom, or at home, completely immersed in a story. Not by the glow of a screen, but the the sound of someone's voice. Using the power of your imagination, you are pulled into a completely different world, with the help of an audio player, bringing you stories and tales from a different place and time.
Here's a brief message from our playwright...
Little Thinker Adventures is a creative audio journey for children.
Their history dates to its origins as an incredible series on cassette tapes. Today, where we have surrounded ourselves by screens, there is a massive resurgence in sound. Podcasts have revived an art form that was thought to be lost. We want to use that magic to ignite the imagination of children, and make education more accessible, and fun.
We have brought back the highly successful, and incredible, cassette audio series of stories called "Little Thinker Adventures." These were dearly loved when they were originally produced in the 1970s. The series ended in the 1980s... but is still a hit amongst young audiences. We felt compelled to keep the adventures alive, and negotiated the rights to sell the stories once again. We have been providing these adventures to a new generation for the past ten years. We are delighted that the Little Thinker stories continue to inspire audiences all around the world today! Feedback from our customers has been phenomenal.
Through this Kickstarter, we want to bring a brand new title... produced by us, with fresh talent, to a whole new generation of children.
ABOUT LITTLE THINKER ADVENTURES
Originally, Little Thinker Adventures was a nineteen episode series on cassette tapes. In order to make them available again, we converted them to digital format. Each adventure is an hour long dramatized story. Each presented a unique topic, or theme, to be explored, like The Sea, The Desert, Outer Space, and Dinosaurs. As each adventure progresses, there is a natural pause, every ten minutes or so, to allow young listeners to draw a picture of what they imagine is happening. The purpose was (and is) to encourage active listening, and creative drawing. The stories feature incredible voice actors, original music, and are truly a one-of-a-kind for children's education and entertainment.
This will be the first new episode in three decades!
ABOUT OUR NEW ADVENTURE: THINK ABOUT THE GARDEN
This project will enable us to create our very own adventure! The project will keep the spirit of the original 1970s stories... but we will usher it into 2019, with a brand new story, acting talent, and music, at the same time upgrading the technology to make the sound better than it has ever been.
As the distributors of the original series for a decade, we are so excited to bring new life to the Little Thinkers. We have carefully studied and surveyed our audience to hear what worked, what needed improvement, and what parents and teachers would want from a 2019 edition.
HOW IT WORKS
Imagine shrinking down to dirt-explorer size! Begin to imagine what animals we might see. They will meet and interact with characters like Timothy the Ant, a lady bug, an earth worm, and even talking flowers! As the animals tell us how they live, we use our imaginations to bring them to life in our thoughts. Every once in a while, the story will pause, so the the Little Thinker can draw what they imagine is happening below ground. They can draw whatever fills their head.
All this, and kids will be encouraged to move and sing along with the garden adventure.
When the adventure is over, they can show off their work to everyone in the family, and their friends. Your Little Thinker can listen to the story over and over again, drawing new picutures each time.
This combination of active listening and creative drawing is the power of any Little Thinker Adventure. It is important to us, as we are part of a screen-obsessed generation, that has made us into "passive listeners." We want to create media that encourages "active listening."
With the funds raised, we can develop the script (now in draft form), create original music to accompany the adventure, hire acting talent, pay for recording and editing costs. (see budget below for details)
Here's how we envision funding our project:
Stretch goals will include funding those areas not highlighted and additional advertising costs.
With your support, we can revive and expand, this amazing adventure series, and provide a new kind of experience for our kids.
We would absolutely love to partner with you to bring this idea to life! Like most Kickstarter projects, there are some rewards for those who lend their financial support. Please take a look at some of the cool things we have should you choose to help us.

Whether you support us financially or not, please take a moment to share our project description with your friends and family. Extending this story to the wides audience possible is only one of the ways to help it succeed.
There are many reward levels from which to choose. All the way up to the Big Kahuna reward, where you can designate your child (or even yourself!) to be a character in the new story. How cool is that?
Risks and challenges
We understand that all projects come with a measure of risk and challenge. However, we think that the risk is on our side. To you, it's no risk, since we only get funded if we meet, or exceed, our goal. Oh, and we're not looking for the complete funding of the project (but if that happens, we'll be overjoyed). We've estimated that it will take about $16,500 to fully fund the project. Our Kickstarter goal is a modest $9500. We are willing to fund part of it ourselves, we believe in it that much. I've also included a list of stretch goals, that we'd fund, if we exceed our Kickstarter objective.
Looking ahead, we're fully prepared to meet our objectives. I have been working as the owner of Little Thinker Adventures for over ten years. I know the philosophy, the products, my customers, and the market very well. Personally, as a Grandpa (whose kids loved these adventures) and a retired management consultant, this project is also a passion for me. I'm not a newbie on Kickstarter, either. A few years ago I had a successful project developing a game that was sold in the Apple App Store for five years. I've engaged a topnotch playwright, to make sure the adventure is fun, entertaining, wholesome, and educational. She's a college professor - her specialty is theatrical directing. In addtion, she's a Mom with a young daughter, making her a perfect fit for her role. She understands what the goal is on both a professional level, and a personal level.
