We all come to the city to chase our dreams. American Harmony Prize winning musical LOVE, NY is a contemporary pop-rock comedy about five ambitious people’s tireless quest to survive their Quarter-Life Crises – all set amid the maniacal hysteria and magical adventure of the City That Never Sleeps.
Produced in Washington, DC for the first time by the capital's smash-hit cabaret and spoken word series, La-Ti-Do, this musical is the organization's first venture into the world of producing a feature length musical set to premiere at the 2013 Capital Fringe Festival on July 13, 16, 20, 23 and 26.
Your support is vital in helping make this dream a reality because you will be the reason why this show will have everything from a cast, orchestra and production crew all the way down to the program that you will hold in your hand on the evening of opening night.
We hope you have a few spare dollars to send our way because this show will be the newest link between our nation's capital to the big apple not only for the material of the musical, but also for the actors involved! And don't worry, the rewards for helping us out are pretty sweet too, so we hope you will take advantage of those by donating!
Please feel free to follow the progress of this musical endeavor from start to finish at our Facebook page located at Facebook.com/LoveNYMusical and we hope that you will LOVE, NY as much as we do and see you at the show in July!
Risks and challenges
The major risk here is that we've never produced a full length musical before or worked with a team this big. La-Ti-Do is a four person, weekly production and LOVE, NY is a project that will involve more than 25 people including cast, crew, orchestra and production team combined!
We've sought out DC and New York's best and brightest to complete the team and with everyone's collective experience from both the DC and NY theatre communities, this has the potential to be the shining star of the 2013 Capital Fringe Festival complete with career boosting experiences for all involved along with memorable moments for the possibly 700 people that can see the finished product.
However, none of this is possible without a stable financial pipeline and support from outside financial backers, which will be the way we will be able to properly promote this unique show about New York to the market in Washington, DC and produce a high quality product for all to see.
The success of this will yield future projects like this for La-Ti-Do paired with the birth of a second chapter to the series in New York City to premiere in September 2013 with the chance to give a major boost to the number of artists this organization will be able to affect and get involved with.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
