Now, after two years of hard work, we have almost realized my dream of completing this book. It is all that I had ever wished it could be, and I am proud to share this moment with all of you.
Here are some process shots of the book's development from the initial brainstorm phase through to the pen and watercolor art creation. As you can see, the steps in creating a children's book are varied and extensive - we all worked together to come up with a unique and original product that we hope you will enjoy as much as we do.
And here are a few detail shots of the final illustrations for different pages in the book:
In addition to the book itself, we have a variety of rewards on offer as thanks for supporting our Kickstarter! Using the illustrations from our book, we've developed everything from stickers and postcards to art prints featuring our panda characters! Below please find a few pictures of the different rewards listed:
For the higher tier donations, we have also created T-shirts and tote bags as rewards. The T-shirts are available in pink and white as well as in adult, youth, and infant onesies sizes. We will contact you when the campaign is over to request your address for rewards delivery and which color and size T-shirt you would prefer. Below are a few pictures of the T-shirt and tote bag designs:
For you daddies (and even mommies) out there, this book carries with it the message of hope that the love you give your children will be appreciated and remembered and that all that comes with being a parent (the good and the bad) is really worth it. For daughters, I hope it serves as a reminder that a daddy's love is forever and that your daddies will always love you no matter what! Although this book is about love for a daddy for his daughter, the universal message of love is appropriate for all parents to read to their children, all "children at heart," and for fans of children's books in general.
THE AUTHOR: MIKE ANG
Mike is a part-time author and perennial life explorer. His curiosity and creative energy has led to a diversified career in management, music, and international commerce. 'Love, Daddy' is his first children's book, and his greatest hope is that it genuinely touches those reading it and resonates with the parent/child in all of us. Originally from the Philippines and raised in San Francisco, Mike now lives in the New York area with his wife, daughter, and two Abyssinian kitties.
THE ILLUSTRATOR: KATHERINE KILLEFFER
Katherine is an art director and illustrator based in NYC. She has worked in the varied worlds of advertising, stationery and fashion, but she most enjoys drawing wild and crazy characters in her sketchbook. 'Love, Daddy' is Katherine's first children's book illustration project, and she can't wait to draw another! See more of Katherine's work on her portfolio site, or follow her on instagram!
THE CREATIVE DIRECTOR: BRIAN SISCO
Brian is a creative director type with his heart in print and digital design as well as weaving, painting and skiing. As soon as he could hold a pencil, Brian was drawing house designs and fantasy landscapes which he learned in later years to be called monumental land art, Gardening and designing environments makes him smile. His love of children’s books from earlier times where publisher’s limited colors and designer/illustrators had to be clever to deliver mind-bending antics on the page…even great for parents doing most of the reading!

Since this book is already 90% completed (and the completion of the final product is already being funded by me through an already established budget), there are minimal risks involved. The funding goal of this Kickstarter campaign has been established to cover printing and fulfillment costs.
Once the books are printed and ready to be published, I will selected a reputable fulfillment center that will effectively handle shipping of the book and the various rewards to make sure you get what you pay for.
In return for your generosity and love, I am pleased to offer what I can in return. Please see the list of rewards that I am offering to say "Thanks" for your support (although there are really no gifts large enough to truly thank you for supporting me).
