Gripped is a feature-length survival epic that takes place on the side of a 1000 ft cliff in the Sierra Nevada mountains of California. Our film tells the story of Rose, a gym climber from Los Angeles. On her first real, outdoor climb, she meets Bret, an experienced climber. Falling for him and thrilled by the challenge of climbing, she convinces Bret - against his better judgment - to take her on a famous, advanced rock climbing route called "Killer Pillar.”
In spite of his skills, Bret takes a huge fall and suffers a serious head injury and torn shoulder. With no way off the cliff, Rose is forced to take the lead and get them both up to the summit even though she has no experience lead climbing. After a long night bivouacked on a ledge and a storm approaching, with Bret going in and out of consciousness, it’s climb or die for Rose.
We've spent the $98,650 we raised from investors and now need $20,000 to make it to the finish line. We are deeply grateful for every dollar contributed!
Risks and challenges
We are deeply grateful to the investors who have funded us up to this point. We've gotten this far on a fraction of the typical cost of an outdoor action-adventure film. But we still face the challenge of raising our finishing funds.
