- Miniatures with tons of attitude, dynamic posing, exquisitely detailed sculpts
- Sculpts that often top the concept art
- Ultra-customizable multi-part troops, thanks to multi-part ball-joint systems
- Beautiful casts in super high quality metal and stunning spin-cast resin (see FAQ for details)

We have such strong faith in our project and our backers that, right from the start, we are offering a full set of 15 freebies (Retail Value: over $250 !) to all Lieutenant Box Pledges and above.
That's $250 worth of free stuff right from the launch of the Kickstarter on top the deal you're getting with your Pledge Level!
We will unveil one of them every day throughout the Kickstarter.
Meanwhile, if you wonder what $250 worth of Freebies looks like, check out the $185 worth of Freebies from our first 1st Kickstarter with this Open-the-Box video from one of our TGG1 backer, DiceMiniaturePaintGuy.
Pledge Levels Recap: Outstanding Deals!
The TGG2 Kickstarter pledges feature great deals when compared to our planned retail pricing. And you'll also notice that the higher the pledge, the better the deal. It's our way to thank you for backing this project and joining the adventure!
And now, Monsters and Machine, for Sci-Fi and for Fantasy:
We've now been working for quite some time on our miniatures game project. We were hoping to be able to include a first version in this Kickstarter, but we ran out of time, and we don't want to show you something that is half-baked. But here are key points that we can already share with you:
The feel of the game will be very cinematic.
The scenarios will revolve mainly around main characters whom you will choose as Heroes for your army. These Heroes may be high or low-ranking. But your main characters won't be able to attain their goals without the active participation of their Troops and Support.
The game will be highly scalable. You will be able to handle confrontations between just 2 minis, as well as between massive armies.
The action will be fast-paced and full of panache, and your Toughest Girls will have to show what they're really made of to shine on the battlefield.
The game will have components not usually associated with tabletop wargaming, such as bluff, negotiations, and more...
Our goal is to make you feel as if you were smack in the middle of your favourite blockbuster or TV series.
By the way, if you are wondering how to pick your minis to be ready for the TGG tabletop game, don't worry about this too much: we all hate those games where you can never play your favourite cool-looking mini because of her lousy stats! Our list-building system will allow you tons of versatility so that you can play exactly the minis that you like.
Who is Raging Heroes?
The TGG2: Darkness & Light is brought to you by Raging Heroes, a very dedicated French studio which has gained worldwide recognition for the quality of its work since 2009. We sell our minis in over 70 countries and consistently get some pretty amazing feedback from our customers and backers.
Shipping Information – Important
From our experience with our previous Kickstarter, we have created a new shipping system:
The shipping fees will be collected AFTER the Kickstarter, during the Pledge Manager. The Pledge Manager is the tool that we use so that you can tell us which minis you want.
As new Rewards become available to ship, you will get to choose if you want them right away or wait for more to be produced before getting a shipment. This way, you decide exactly how many shipments you get, how often, and how much you spend on shipping.
Therefore, the shipping fees will be collected after the Kickstarter, each time you ask us to send you a parcel.
Shipping will be weight-based. As a rough estimate, to-date, shipping the content of a Captain Box costs about $12 to ship to France, $22 to ship to the European Union, $28 to ship for the rest of the world.
While there is a very strong chance that you will receive all of your Rewards way before they become available at retail, there is always a possibility that some TGG2 minis go on sale before then, especially if you choose to save on Shipping costs and wait for ALL the TGG2 minis to be produced before receiving your Rewards Selection. We believe that the very special deal, the Freebies, and the exclusive content we provide with the TGG2 KS largely compensates for this slight possibility. However, if you are not comfortable with this, please do not back this KS and wait for the TGG2 to be available at retail.
Risks and challenges
We have learned quite a lot from our first Kickstarter, The Toughest Girls for the Galaxy. It was successful beyond our wildest expectations. This forced us to grow and adapt at a very fast pace. We made some errors along the way, but we're only stronger for it. With that experience under our belt, we have redesigned every single process of our workflow: the creative work, the manufacturing, the logistics, etc. So we can confidently say that we are much better prepared this time, whatever size this TGG2 KS ends up at.
Overall, the only problem we had on our previous Kickstarter was the delay in production. This was due to our underestimating the success of the TGG KS, and to our overeagerness to achieve excellence, which led to redo a lot of our sculpting.
However, the vast majority of our backers feel extremely pleased with the way we handled this, and praised us on keeping our focus on quality rather than speed.
Nevertheless, we have now put in place new workflows and processes to streamline the creative as,well as the production work.
That being said, when you back a Kickstarter, you embark on a great adventure. You get a unique chance to ride side-by-side with the project's creators, and see from the inside how a project is brought to life. This can be very thrilling as new stuff comes along, and better than expected results are achieved. But as in every adventure, the sea does get rough sometimes. By being a backer, not only do you get to get a feel for the highs and lows the project creators must live through. You get a very real opportunity to celebrate the wins, but also, to support the morale of the project team and make a difference when things are challenging.
Kickstarters are projects in development. They are not pre-order shops where the unknown doesn’t have its place.
You might not want to take part in an expedition that may include risks and delays and a little bit of rough seas, and this is all well with us.
We cannot guaranty anything except that we'll do our best just like we did in our previous KS.
But if you don't mind a little drizzle and you want to live the adventure together with us and be part of the creation of something great, if you want a bit of the unknown and watch new sculpts and characters as they come to life, if you love to experience unexpected good turns, great art and the companionship of an amazing band of backers, then do come aboard, we are setting sails!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
Everything is cast is spin-cast resin. Most Heroines (excluding the Freebies) will also be available in metal. (Spin-cast resin and metal are priced the same).
We've outlined the estimated retail price of each mini on the KS front page.
However, please know that once the minis reach retail, their actual retail price may slightly vary due to currency fluctuations between the Euro, the Dollar and the British Pound.
During the KS campaign, there will be one Update every day. After the campaign, we intend to post roughly one Update per month, and more often if something urgent comes up.
We've come to realise that the Kickstarter Comments Thread is not the most efficient place to interact with our backers. The sheer amount of comments, the inability to edit them (for both you and us), to include images, etc., means that valuable information and legitimate questions, ideas and concerns do get lost and may go unanswered.
If you need a question answered, and if you want to make sure we see your question/comment/feedback, please contact us directly (see above).
Also, please know that we compile the recurring question/comment/feedback that you send us, and address them in our Updates.
The "freebies" are special miniature that we are offering you FOR FREE. One Freebie will be unveiled everyday. So there will be 15 in total for a retail value of about 200$. They will be added FOR FREE to all pledges from the LIEUTENANT BOX level and above pledge levels.
You just need to pledge at LIEUTENANT BOX or above. And you'll automatically get at least 200$ worth of freebies.
Free Upgrades are for everyone, regardless of your Pledge Level.
As we don't work with the big Chinese manufacturers but with small foundries located in the UK and the US, we don't need to wait for 1 or 2 or 3 big massive shipments sent in container by boat before being able to start fulfilling the project.
On the contrary, our streamlined production is an ongoing process, with new stuff coming in every week. This means that as soon as manufacturing starts, new minis become available in a continuing fashion.
Therefore, we will have minis to ship in early Fall, and in a continuing flow after that.
Kickstarter asks us to provide an estimated delivery date of the project, which is entirely normal. However, this date is then locked in with the Pledge Description, and Pledges cannot be amended once there is one backer on it.
And so, we have set this date to March 2016, which seems a good timing considering the work that is already done to date, and how we plan to do the rest, based on our past experience and our improvement of production workflows. This date is for a Kickstarter that would be roughly of similar size to our previous one (TGG), that is, between $600K-$900K.
However, in the case of this KS going higher and, say, up to $1.5 million, newer unlocks and the increased volume of production will definitely impact the date of the final manufacturing and release of all models and push it out to late Summer 2016.
Again, remember that the production is continuous and that you will have the possibility of receiving the available minis at any time once they are produced, and way before the entire production is completed.
Furthermore, just so you know, we are already working on plans to expand our creative and manufacturing capacities. Our plan is that the higher the KS grows, the more we can move to the next level, both in the quantity of sculpts that we can produce and in the quantity of casts that we can get manufactured. We are already working on this. We will as usual keep you informed via our monthly Updates.
It looks like a few backers who may be new to Kickstarter are a bit unsure about how how Stretch Goals, Freebies, Add-ons, and increasing pledges work. It is true that we do take all this for granted, but being confronted to a Kickstarter for the first time can be confusing. So here are a few pointers below.
By pledging at Lieutenant Box and above, you are automatically getting Freebies worth over $200.
We unveil a new one every day.
Every time the TGG2 campaign passes a new level of funding, we unlock a new item. For example, when we reached the $500,000, we unlocked the Altar of the Succubi, which means that you will be able to select this as one of your Rewards. So, the more stretch goals are unlocked, the more different models you can choose from once the campaign is over.
The Free Upgrades are very cool: they will add new stuff to already unlocked figures. Mostly, that will be additional alternative heads and body parts to create even more customisable troops. There will also be additional weapons to make better-looking champions or to give heavy weaponry to some of the troopers. There will even be complete miniatures added to the All-Star boxes (see Update 3 for info on All-Star boxes: http://bit.ly/TGG2-03
Increasing your Pledge
Once you've already pledged once, there is a big green button on the top right of the TGG2 Kickstarter project tht says “Manage your Pledge”. When you click on it, ou can add more funds. If you really want to increase the value of your Pledge, you can go to a higher Pledge Levels. The higher the Pledge Level, the better the deal.
Choosing your Rewards
After the end of the campaign, we will give you access to the Pledge Manager. It is a web-based tool that will allow you to select precisely which miniatures you want.
Add-ons are special items that you can also add to your Pledge count. They are not necessarily unlocked as Stretch Goals. For example, the Freebies will also be available as add-ons, for those who pledge at lower than Lieutenant Level, or those who want to select extra Freebies. There will be an Add-on table added to the TGG2 KS front page later in the campaign.
New minis are now unlocked because we've passed new Stretch Goals, but the list of all minis does not yet reflect that!
True, it does happen, particularly if we're all off to bed :)
We will continue to update it often. But we always leave the Stretch Goals list on the Front page, so that you know exactly where you're at. So make sure you take a look at it when there's a particular model you want, until we have time to update the all the lists :)
