The Inn, as featured in the DiceStormers one-shot Pathfinder adventure.
For as long as I've been playing tabletop wargames I've always wanted large sprawling cities and towns to cover my tabletop and fight battles through. Buildings that were more than just static set dressing, but instead influenced the way troops moved through and interacted with the terrain.
I founded Lost Sawmill in 2016 to design and manufacture highly detailed buildings that could quickly turn any tabletop into a fully interactive city or town. Using my 3D design and model making experience I've spent the last two years designing and refining the Explorable Precision-cut Interlocking City System, that I've called EPiCS.
EPiCS is designed on an interlocking tile system that uses 30x30cm, 30x15cm and 15x15cm building and street tiles that quickly lock together to forms towns, cities and castles. You can add, swap and rotate buildings and streets to create endless combinations for your battles and adventures.
The Inn is the first building in the Medieval Town range. Designed to be the focal point of any town or village, the Inn is a three storey building with a bar, fireplace, balconies, rooms and stairs.
Each level can be removed to allow access to all areas of the building, while the large floor plates allow for meaningful encounters between miniatures. The doors are hinged and latched to provide interactivity and the surfaces are laser etched to provide an added level of detail.
The Inn comes with a detachable 30x30cm interlocking base-plate to allow you to connect the building with future EPiCS expansions, or use it as a stand-alone building on your battlefield.
The MDF kits are designed with a level of precision that mean components fit together easily and are laser etched with texture and detail that look incredible when painted. A downloadable PDF with easy to follow step-by-step instructions is available with every kit.
You are an Innkeeper, a host of the hearth. The Innkeeper reward tier includes one flat packed MDF kit which can be assembled into the Inn. All kits will come with a 30x30cm EPiCS interlocking base plate which can be attached to the Inn to be used with future expansions. Assembly instruction will be provided as a downloadable PDF.
Future expansions to the Medieval Town range as well as accessory sets are already being designed. Houses, churches, town squares and shops are planned to fill out your towns and cities, each with the same level of detail and interactivity as the Inn. The City Walls from my previous Kickstarter campaign will also be re-released with the same interlocking base system to allow you to join all of you EPiCS buildings, streets and town squares together.
One of the most important ways you can help get this project funded is by sharing it with your friends, family, gaming groups and online communities. The more people who get involved, the faster EPiCS will grow. Use the links below to share this project and start to make every tabletop gaming experience truly epic!

International backers are responsible for paying all customs fees, import duties, VAT and other relevant taxes.
Risks and challenges
There are two major risks and challenges that need to be overcome; production and shipping.
Scaling the manufacturing to meet order volume will be the biggest challenge as production time is entirely dependant on the volume of orders. I am in talks with manufacturers to find ways of upscaling production while still keeping sets affordable, but final production time cannot be calculated until after the campaign when exact quantities are known. Every effort will be made to get the project completed on schedule, priority will be given to product quality over speed of production.
Shipping kits from a country as geographically remote as Australia is difficult. Every effort has been made to ensure postage costs are affordable, but dealing with the logistics of international postage will be challenging.
The estimated delivery date is January 2019, but this is only an estimate. Due to the logistics of international shipping, backers in different regions of the world may receive their rewards sooner than others.
Please note that international backers are responsible for paying all customs fees, import duties, VAT and any other relevant taxes. Relevant customs declaration documentation will be filled out, but shipping delays through customs may occur due to these charges.
I would have liked to be able to make this project more internationally friendly, however the logistics of dealing with customs issues would have caused unacceptable delays in completing the project.
