We are independent recording and touring artists currently recording our best and most ambitious project yet. The album title is called “Dragonfly” because the title track centers around the dragonfly which is a symbol of change, transformation and personal growth. We believe that all the songs on our new record aren’t just about us, they are about you too! You know how when you hear a song on the radio and you just know it was written with you in mind? That’s exactly what we are doing right now.
HOW IT ALL STARTED
It all started about twelve years ago at the Thirsty Ear Tavern in Columbus, Ohio, where Colin (recently relocated from the UK) hosted a weekly Sunday jam. He often invited Deb (recently moved from Texas) to sit in. We became friends almost instantly and have been performing and recording together ever since.
Since the release of Deb's last Kickstarter-Funded project, "Raise Your Hands" in 2013, we have toured Asia, Europe and North America and released an EP "Streets of Mumbai" in 2015. In November of last year, one of our songs from "Raise Your Hands" was featured in the pilot episode of TNT’s “Good Behavior”!
Over the past two years, we experienced some extreme highs and lows especially the deaths of our fathers and some close friends plus other universally human themes. These experiences brought us closer together personally and professionally and has really elevated our development as songwriters and performers.
All of these themes, though common, have been woven into some pretty uncommon music that we are proud to invite you to be a part of! We are pretty sure you will find your theme song somewhere on this record. We feel these are not just songs about us but they are about you too as the themes in these songs are extremely relatable and universal.
No successful artist is an island! We are so fortunate to be backed by a team of incredible musicians and led by the genius of our producer and friend Michael Landolt.
Guest Musicians include:
Jimmy Casto: drums
Jo El: drums
Nate Hollman: organ
Jeff Jensen: guitar
Mick Kolassa: vocals
Melvin Powe: bass
Cliff Starbuck: bass
WHAT DOES IT SOUND LIKE?
Though we will always be deeply rooted in blues and soul, our sound continues to evolve and most recently includes hints of spaghetti western, surf, and retro sounding grooves.
HOW WILL WE USE THIS MONEY?
In order to help bring this dream to life, we are excited to launch this project with kickstarter. By pre-ordering the album now or any other reward you see on this page, you are directly helping us to bring a worthy project to life. In return, you will receive exclusive rewards before anyone else, PLUS exclusive behind the scenes updates from the writers room, the studio and US on tour!
We hope you will help spread the word about how folks can get in on this exciting new project! Since Kickstarter is all or nothing funding,we really appreciate your help in getting the word out. All money that is contributed within this goal will be used to fund the remaining costs of the recording segment of this project and to deliver your rewards. If we exceed that goal, we will use the extra money to help finance the promotion of our CD in radio and print media (another very expensive undertaking).
Not only will you be able to hear the songs before anyone else, you will also be able to hear it on vinyl! Other really exciting things you can get are a party with us in our backyard, Colin powerwashing your deck, tshirts, CDs and much more! As with all projects on Kickstarter, funding will only be successful if our minimum goal amount is reached so we ask all of you to share, share, share the word!
Even if you cannot afford to contribute money, your helping to get the word out is just as appreciated!! So welcome, take a look at what we have to offer and join our family! THANK YOU!!
Risks and challenges
Our only foreseeable risk is reward fulfillment delays brought on by manufacturing issues. If any issues arise, we will keep you posted. We will work to rectify any issues and keep you posted on progress!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
