fulfillment begins, plus Gen Con and Origins
Fulfillment on The Ninth World is beginning this week. It's a process that can take different amounts of time depending on where in the world you are and how much work the relevant fulfiller has to do, so we can't yet tell you when your game will show up at your door. But it's a matter of single-digit weeks now. Here's what we're doing.
We've seen all our shipments land in port
Our friends at OTX Logistics have been giving us regular updates about the travels of our games. We're delighted to say that all of our boats have all landed in their relevant continents. The boats and promo card shipments that were bound for Southampton and Sydney both landed last week, clearing customs as expected and getting to their fulfillers. The boat bound for Jacksonville landed on Monday and cleared customs, but the cargo has not yet been released from the shipyard. We expect to hear about our games getting to Orlando for shipment very soon.
What this means is that we've cleared our fulfillers to send out the games as soon as they can. If you're in Europe, you'll get a shipping confirmation from Gamesquest. If you're in the Australia/Pacific region, you'll get a shipping confirmation from Aetherworks. If you're in the United States or Canada, your confirmation will come from Quartermaster Logistics. Though that sounds like a lot of places, it's all being coordinated from the same sources, so we should be able to post updates when we know when things are moving.
We've locked down our address spreadsheets
We have finalized all addresses in anticipation of shipping The Ninth World to you. Your address that is now in our system cannot be changed.
The next step is for Quartermaster to release the addresses for each region to each fulfiller, which will happen this week. That will enable the fulfillers to process your pledges and get your games out to you quickly.
We've signed and prepped everything we needed to
We signed many playmaps and had them sent to Florida, Australia, and England. They have been bundled with two promo cards for every backer. All of these will ship with the games and unsigned playmaps you ordered.
Order numbers are now final and can't be changed. If you missed something, we will give you an opportunity to get it after we've shipped all the Kickstarter rewards.
We're getting ready for Origins and Gen Con
Meanwhile, in addition to getting these games out the door, there's something else occupying our thoughts: the onset of the summer convention season.
The Ninth World will be featured in our booth at the Origins Game Fair, June 13-17 in Columbus, Ohio. We'll also have lots of other games there. While we don't plan to run official events at Origins, you can come by the Lone Shark booth and check out the game. Early bird registration closes for Origins on Thursday, so if you'd like to play with us there, get your registration today.
Gen Con is coming up shortly thereafter, on August 2-5 in Indianapolis. Our events are live in their registration system. If you want to join us for a game of The Ninth World, Apocrypha, and/or Thornwatch, go to this site when logged in to your Gen Con account. You will find over a dozen Play-and-Win events for each game, including The Ninth World. What a "play-and-win" means is this: If you sign up for an event, you will automatically get a $10 coupon for use on a purchase of $50 or more at our booth—that's not just The Ninth World, but for anything we have at the show, such as Apocrypha, Thornwatch, and The Maze of Games. In addition, one player determined by die roll will receive a signed copy of the game they are playing, or give it to another person. You can sign up entire groups of people at a time, so this is an excellent opportunity to try to get someone else in your group a copy of the game.
We're really looking forward to watching these games go out to everyone who has patiently stood with us through a complex and often frustrating process. We're almost done now. Thanks for supporting The Ninth World!
