Introducing the Maze Map!

The outpouring of support has allowed us to make a new extension of The Maze of Games: this stellar maze map. It’s an all-new optimization puzzle by Mike and Eric Harshbarger, featuring many of the characters you’ll find in the Maze. And it’s writ large: the map poster will be roughly three feet across when unfolded.

Here’s a mockup by graphic designer Corey Macourek of what a single panel of the Maze Map might look like (art and puzzles not final):

We’re offering this for a $10 add-on to any copy of the book, physical or electronic. But if you already have the Gatekeeper Limited Edition, you don’t need to order this map, because it will already come built into your book. Here’s an updated price list.

That coffee table of yours isn’t completely consumed by a puzzle yet. So reserve your maze map today.

Reddit, Story Forward, and the Song Stylist badge

In addition to today’s Reddit AMA, you can listen to Mike talk about The Maze of Games on the transmedia podcast Story Forward. It is very possible that both of those are involved in the acquisition of the new Song Stylist badge, which still has more information to come.

On an unrelated note, Mike gets interviewed by the Successful Nerd site about the business behind running a Kickstarter. That’s a little off the beaten track, but worth a read.

Maze of Games Kickstarter Update Puzzle #14

Your journey continues! Here is the next part of your adventure through the maze.

14. He does a claw-clacking dance around you. "Thi1 4 3ssing should protect you. There is much danger in the maze."

When you have the game name that answers the puzzle, go to puzzazz.com/mazeofgames. Type in the puzzle's number and your answer, in that order. If you're correct, you'll get a piece of a maze which you can assemble to help you find your way out! You can find all previous update puzzles at the @MazeofGames Twitter feed.

Thanks for supporting The Maze of Games!

Auros: wow - I do feel stupid now, thanks :)

Ha, got the AMA one. Should've seen that sooner...

Peter, if you want a hint on the PAR one: There's a particular type of puzzle highlighted by name. Once you see it, you'll kick yourself for having previously missed it. :-)

I haven't found anything on the PAR page, but the AMA stuck out pretty clearly (for me, anyway). I'll have to keep looking, and then the Wired Hunter one!

I solved the Penny Arcade one, but have yet to even figure out what I'm looking for on the Reddit AMA. :-|

Wha...? How did...? But the third piece isn't even OUT yet! *Signs up for "Puzzling Out Puzzles" 101*

So psyched I figured this one out I had to change my profile photo to the badge!

Looking through the Reddit for so long my eyes are going blurry, and I STILL can't find what I'm supposed to be looking for...*le sigh*

Just add $10 to your pledge by selecting the blue Manage Your Pledge button in the upper right, then increasing the amount by $10. You don't need to change anything else.

I would like to add the map but it is not clear how to do it. Could you please tell me how to add the map onto an already pledged amount. Thanks!

David: Nope. It's the same one.

I feel like I just got the punchline to a crusty, old joke. I suppose it had to be crow-barred in there somewhere.

      MOOOAARRR Gatekeeper Books! MOOOOAAAR!

    14. Creator Jeremy Faircloth on February 22, 2013

      Cute, James... Very cute. :P

Is this different from the foldout map at the $75 level?

    16. Creator James Cowling on February 22, 2013

This is right on. I like Eric's work. (Has it really been five years since we played Scrabble in Reno, Eric?)
