Get a set of Maze of Games Code Pencils!

We are pleased to offer our first post-launch add-on, and it's a great one. With a copy of any electronic or hardcover book, you can get a dozen pencils for $30, suitable for solving The Maze of Games. But they are not just any pencils. They are the coolest pencils a puzzler can ever own.

Designer Eric Harshbarger has created six unique Maze of Games code pencils, each of which provides a different set of tools for solving puzzles. On each pencil's six faces are six codes or sequences critical for puzzle solving. In each dozen, you get two each of the following (colors and codes not final):

  • The yellow pencil: Alphabet, numbers (1-26), Braille, Morse code, semaphore, binary
  • The white pencil: Alphabet, trinary, American Sign Language, nautical flags, QWERTY, Dvorak
  • The orange pencil: Numbers (up to 1000), Roman numerals, telephone keypad letters, keyboard shift numbers, U.S. presidents on paper money, U.S. presidents on coins
  • The pink pencil: Months, days in months, birthstones, Western zodiac, zodiac symbols, Chinese zodiac
  • The tan pencil: Numbers, prime numbers, square numbers, cubic numbers, powers of two, Fibonacci sequence
  • The silver pencil: Powers of ten, metric prefixes, metric symbols, large number names, imperial ruler in inches, metric ruler in centimeters

You can order as many sets as you want. The simplest way is to select the $80 level if you want a hardback book and a set of pencils, or change your current pledge to that number. But you can also just add $30 to any pledge that includes an ebook or hardback book, and get a set of pencils with it.

We're really excited about these pencils. You don't need them to solve The Maze of Games, but your friends will be envious when you do.

Maze of Games Kickstarter Update Puzzle #9

You are one-third of the way through your journey! Here is the next part of your adventure through the maze.

9. "What is that sound?" you shout. A raspy voice shouts back, "It is I you 4. 2k tsk, what a predicament."

When you have the game name that answers the puzzle, go to puzzazz.com/mazeofgames. Type in the puzzle's number and your answer, in that order. If you're correct, you'll get a piece of a maze which you can assemble to help you find your way out! You can find all previous update puzzles at the @MazeofGames Twitter feed. Follow the Gatekeeper for more updates.

      I was just wondering, on the order of the "Manage the Pledge" and be able to get extra stuff, I ordered the e-solve pdf, and 2 set of pencils, on the pencils will we get like two of each different one, or is it all just ONE set like Just orange, or just White?
      Thanks

      Oh, nevermind. I got it. No comma.

      "It is I you 4"... Is there a comma missing in the clue or is this grammatically correct when the missing word is filled in?

      Yes, there is a $5 bump in international shipping prices if you order pencils with any reward other than the $80 [19 WISHES CLUB (PENCILS)].

      We'll get this all into a chart as soon as we can. Apologies for any confusion. Please send us a message if you're not sure what your order costs.

      Also, for those not in the US, don't forget to add any shipping on top of those figures quoted below.

      Alan: Absolutely. Do it exactly that way. At the end of the campaign, you'll get a survey which asks you how many of what you requested, and we'll get those to you.

      Is there a way to get 2 dozen pencils? If I pledge $110 -- but select the $80 level, will I get 24 pencils (4 of each)?

      Adam: That's one of the reasons we're putting two of each type in each set. One for use, and one for admiration.

      We've gotten a lot of questions in the last few minutes about how add-ons work with each other. We'll try to get some answers together for the next update, but here are some basic details. Signed editions are +$15, ebooks are +$15, and pencil sets are +$30 each.

      So if you want:
      * an ebook and a pencil set: select $20 reward, pledge $50
      * a hardback and a pencil set: select $80 reward, pledge $80
      * a signed hardback and a pencil set: select $80 reward, pledge $95
      * a hardback, an ebook, and a pencil set: select $80 reward, pledge $95
      * a signed hardback, an ebook, and a pencil set: select $80 reward, pledge $110
      * a Gatekeeper's edition and an ebook: select $125 reward, pledge $140
      * a Gatekeeper's edition and a pencil set: select $125 reward, pledge $155
      * a Gatekeeper's edition, an ebook, and a pencil set: select $125 reward, pledge $170

      You can always adjust a pledge, even after you authorize it. Hope that helps.

      If I got these pencils I don't think I would use them, other than for reference. Like Matt said, you don't want to lose the reference material due to use!

      Matt: The challenge will be answered on Sunday, when the next challenge is announced.

      Cool pencils. At least there's some space for sharpening before you start losing the reference material. :)
