We have decided to cancel this campaign and return with a better strategy for successful funding. This includes a lower funding goal and international shipping options. Thank you all for your support so far. We'll be back soon.
In the meantime, please stay connected with us so you'll be the first to know when we relaunch. Like us on Facebook. Follow us on Twitter. Join our mailing list.
Having you with us on Day-1 of our relaunch will go a long way towards making Bank Heist a success.
Thank you all for helping us get this far!
Bank Heist is a social deduction game that promises action and suspense, deception, and most importantly - loads of fun.
(Jump to the Previews and Demo section for evidence!)
Our goal was to create a game that groups could play over and over without the frustration of being targeted without any ability to prevent elimination. That's why Bank Heist is played in two primary phases:
In the Robbery Phase, players are loading cash into the truck and taking actions based on their role. There are no eliminations during this phase. Instead each player is gathering items for later use and observing the actions of other players to figure out who's Crew and who may be Agents or Rivals.
Bank Heist includes the best elements of social deduction games such as suspense and deception but adds an explosive action element. That's where the Getaway Phase comes in.
You will now use the items collected during the robbery to eliminate those you don't trust. In Bank Heist, eliminating a player isn't as easy as a majority vote or pointing your finger. Some players may have a bulletproof vest or use cards to avoid attacks. This makes for an action-packed finale and is truly what sets Bank Heist apart from other social deduction games.
Another pain point in many games is the lack of creativity when deciding who goes first. Rather than having the start player be the last person to have a birthday or get their oil changed - we decided to go a different route. In Bank Heist there is a quick process where players must "Crack the Vault" to begin the robbery. The player who solves the combination first gets to kick things off.
There are 3 roles in Bank Heist: Crew, Agent, and Rival. We wanted our game to be fun for every player regardless of the role you're dealt. Whether you're rushing to finish the robbery as Crew, waiting to pull off your double-cross as a Rival, or preparing to take everyone down as an Agent—you're guaranteed to have a blast and want to play each role again and again.
One of the most fun aspects of Bank Heist is the in-game player mods called Attributes. Some Attributes such as Martial Skills are very good, while others such as Hush Money are not so good but totally satisfying when passed to that player you just really need to shut up.
These modifications also help keep Bank Heist new exciting each time you play. One game may feature a Trigger Happy Agent while the next leaves them Gun Jammed.
*Note that components shown in our videos are for demo purposes. The final manufactured version will have a more solid look and higher quality finishes.
Want more than one copy of Bank Heist? Simply add $36 to your pledge for each additional game you wish to receive. This amount will cover the game + additional shipping.
One of our biggest goals is to make Bank Heist as accessible and easy to learn as possible. That's why we're partnering up with The Rules Girl on our one and only stretch goal. If we're able to reach $19,175 (only $1175 above our goal) we will have one of her incredibly concise and easy-to-understand rules videos made. The Rules Girl is a name that is trusted and respected within the board game community and we feel having her release a video for Bank Heist will go a long way towards helping people learn and want to play our game.
Bank Heist is more than just a passive project for us. That's why if the base version of the game funds, we plan to continue growing the experience through expansions. We already have two in the works so stay tuned! We will make them available through our website after successful funding.
We are now shipping to select international destinations on our Bank Heist pledge level. If you do not see your country or want to discuss an international order on one of our other pledge levels, please email us. We will do our best to accommodate all of our potential backers:
All charges, customs or potentially lost packages due to local delivery services are the responsibility of the individual backer and not Lonely Hero Games.
Risks and challenges
One of the greatest challenges for us was ensuring that we are able to provide a real and reasonable timeline for release and delivery. When it comes to shipping, we didn't want to end up with a situation where we miscalculated delivery costs and time to international buyers. For this reason, we had to make the decision to only ship to US customers at this time.
An additional challenge is gaining trust as a brand new company releasing our first game. We have sent our game to multiple outlets for previews and worked hard to get it in front people in the "real world." Showing our proof of concept to as many individuals as possible has helped in that regard.
With any project there is always the risk of unforeseen circumstances. If there are any delays or hangups throughout this process we promise to quickly communicate with everyone and work as hard and as fast as possible to correct these issues.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
