My goal: Build a great card game for friends and family to enjoy.
Are your Heroes ready?
- Fast: The game sets up in less than a minute and plays in about 10-20 minutes.
- Simple and engaging: The rules are easy to pick up yet good play is very rewarding. There are dozens of different hero abilities to make each turn interesting.
- Accessible: One deck can be used for up to 4 players (can be expanded to 5-6 players with two decks)
- Easy to collect: No mystery packs. Each deck has all the cards you need to play!
THE GAME: In CQ:HEROES, the players main objective is to defeat the Adventure Deck. This is done by players taking turns building a party of heroes and sending them out to defeat various encounters.
THE HERO PARTY: There is one rule when putting these hero groups together: players may only send ONE of each color to attack.
THE CHOICE: So for your RED hero, do you choose the Berserker for his raw power or do you go with the Warden to give bonuses to all of your Spearman? For the YELLOW hero, do you use The Rain Shaman with his powerful multi-healing or do you need the Cleric with more damage but less healing?

REVIEW FROM UNDEAD VIKING:
How To Play:
Starting with the first player, each player performs the following 4 actions in order:
- ATTACK: Attack 1 encounter OR skip this phase to add one additional Hero to your Tavern on the next step
- TAVERN: Place 1 hero in your Tavern (2 if you skipped the ATTACK phase)
- DRAW: Draw your hand back up to 5 cards
- REFRESH: Draw and add 1 new Adventure encounter card to the dungeon hall
The game ends when either the Adventure Deck runs out of cards (the Goblins 'win') OR you defeat the Goblin Keep. Either way, all players count their total Victory Points for their score.
Heroes - Building your raiding party
The player deck's heroes are combined to form a raiding party to attack the various encounters and locations from the Adventure Deck.
Space is limited for your heroes! Parties may only use ONE of each basic color!
The Basic Hero Classes
The heroes come in different colors and rarities. How rare a hero is does not mean how hard it is to collect, it is how rare they are in the deck. Common = no limit, Uncommon = up to 3 of the same hero, Rare = up to 1 of the same hero.
Gray Hero Class
Most of the art came from my video game that I created in 2003. The rest has been drawn up as needed for each new card that I make. The art was originally going to be temporary but has grown on me. Other players ended up really liking it too so I decided to keep it.
There are many more areas to explore than the Goblin Keep. Each new Adventure Deck comes with an all new objective, all new encounters and introduces some new encounter abilities.
For example: The Desert Temple introduces a new card: Raid Boss. These are powerful but high value enemies that will take a lot of heroes to defeat. These bosses guard the Throne Room. A location with a huge amount of treasure (IE: Victory Points). Once the bosses are defeated, ALL players assemble one last party of heroes to assault the Throne Room. The strongest party will get the Throne Room victory points to add to their score.
These new expansions also come with new heroes for every color. They can be shuffled right into the player deck or you can choose and swap out some of the old heroes for the new ones. With more and more heroes added to the game, player decks will continue to evolve.
The funds will go to producing this game which includes: Printing the cards, rules, and all the different game boxes. It will also pay for the shrink wrapping and shipping. I am also building a website and would like to add a shopping cart feature for after my Kickstarter project is done.
I plan to have many more expansions in the future with all new adventures and new hero cards. I also already have over 250 additional cards designed and waiting to get placed in these new sets.
I have enjoyed creating games as a hobby for friends and family years but this game has gotten the most attention by far and many have pushed me to get it out to the public. I am hoping that word of mouth will allow a whole new group of friends and families to play this game. Thanks for checking it out!
