Homo The Musical is about what happens when two worlds collide, literally! Set in an insular, religious, middle American suburb which houses a tight knit community of people who tout family values, fear change, shun individuality and take divine comfort in complete homogeny.
But little do the good folk of Pleasant Valley Pines know that there is an imposter among them plotting chaos and destruction. And this my friends is all I will tell you as I hope you will be in the audience to experience all of the action packed scenes such as, alien invasions, gay wrestling, exploding heads, rockin' church choirs, murderous cheerleaders and sexually frustrated housewives all set to song and dance!
Created by B-Movie filmmaker and NYC’s answer to John Waters, Lola Rock-N-Rolla (Dragzilla, Night of the Living Gay). Along with Gina Volpe, seminal NYC punk guitar player and songwriter (Lunachicks/Bantam) and Broadway dancer & celebrated choreographer Aliane Baquerot (Celebrity Circus, Movin' Out on Broadway). These three distinct backgrounds have joined forces to create a project that boasts hilariously campy dialogue, full on rock songs performed on stage by a live band and solid kick-ass dancing. The lights go up in January in the East Village and will undoubtedly follow in the footsteps of Hedwig and Rocky Horror.
