A prototype is a preliminary model of something. Projects that offer physical products need to show backers documentation of a working prototype. This gallery features photos, videos, and other visual documentation that will give backers a sense of what’s been accomplished so far and what’s left to do. Though the development process can vary for each project, these are the stages we typically see:
Proof of Concept
Explorations that test ideas and functionality.
Functional Prototype
Demonstrates the functionality of the final product, but looks different.
Appearance Prototype
Looks like the final product, but is not functional.
Design Prototype
Appearance and function match the final product, but is made with different manufacturing methods.
Production Prototype
Appearance, function, and manufacturing methods match the final product.

These photos and videos provide a detailed look at this project’s development.

-How the Fishstick is made
The Fishstick is cut from billet stock and CNC machined to precision specifications determined through several design iterations. Post processing involves inspection and smoothing of all edges, to ensure all edges are blunt and safe.
The LMS logo and USA markings are then laser engraved on the top side of the Fishstick, and the ruler feature is engraved on the backside for ease of use(metric and inch options available).
Finishes are applied as desired depending on each material before being sealed up for shipping.
This work is done in house to keep everything streamlined and pricing fair, while maintaining complete control of all processes.

-The Fishstick Prybar Family
The Fishstick Prybar is being offered in a variety of high quality materials, each with their own unique characteristics for all tastes, styles, and applications. A variety of finishes are available for most variants.
• 6061 Aluminum Fishstick
High strength and lightweight, this aersospace grade material is ready for everyday use.
An excellent entry piece for those who want a quality prybar, but don’t see themselves needing an extreme heavy duty piece. This Fishstick is stonewashed for a smooth feel and then media blasted for a uniform satin finish.

• Tellurium Copper Fishstick
Hefty and comforting, this material has a great feel to it and will stand out among the crowd.
Finishes available on this Fishstick in both media blasted and scuffed patinas (darkened). For those who love red metals but still want the more basic functions of the Fishstick. Note, this is a much softer material and will not be as durable in heavy use applications.

• Bronze Fishstick
An ancient material used for millennia by humans in tooling, this beautiful material still finds a niche in the modern world.
Finishes available on this Fishstick in both media blasted and stonewashed. For those who love red metals but still want the more basic functions of the Fishstick. Note, this is a much softer material and will not be as durable in heavy use applications, although much tougher than brass and copper.

• Stainless Steel Fishstick
High strength and resilience will keep this piece looking good regardless of most conditions.
Finishes available in both media blasted and the “signature LMS” black oxide. Additionally, a semi-polished finish is available, where the Fishstick is stonewashed for a smooth feel, then media blasted, and finally the faces are given a polish for a shine, and an overall two tone satin/polish combo. For those looking for a more basic model but still want the strength of stainless, a stonewashed Fishstick is available as well.

• Titanium Fishstick
Exotic, this material shows that you mean business.
Matching finishes available on the Fishstick in both media blasted and the ever popular flame anodizing. Additionally a semi-polished finish is available, where the Fishstick is stonewashed for a smooth feel, then media blasted, and finally the faces are given a polish for a shine, and an overall two tone satin/polish combo. For those looking for a more basic model but still want the titanium title, a stonewashed Fishstick is available as well. Note, flame anodizing is not extremely durable and will scuff and wear with use.
