Fail Squad Games brings you another quality RPG adventure module for your tabletop game! The Bogey of Brindle is more than a re-write, it's a COMPLETE re-imagining of the first module ever produced by Lloyd Metcalf "The Bogey of Swindle".
It is also a PERFECT Fall or Halloween adventure!
Don't forget! If you are backing at a level that has printed products coming in the mail, you can add just $15 to your backing level for each module you want IN ADDITION to any you are already receiving.
This option is popular with collectors, so you can have a copy to play, and a copy to keep in mint condition.
The creation of one of the "Art Bogey" level rewards:
Now for any level that receives products in the mail (ALL ABOVE digital Bogey) If you ADD $12 to your backer level you will receive a copy of Fail Squad Games' first 5E adventure "Curse of the White Mine" in addition to your regular rewards. Curse is a fun single session sand box adventure.
for a digital PDF copy add $4.00 above your level!
Is this simply a Re-Do?
This is NOT a simple re-do. The original Bogey of Swindle was a short digest one-sitting adventure. As a first attempt at adventure writing, and a first attempt at condensed adventures you can imagine that it likely had some short-comings. The original was also written for 1E/OSRIC and never contained very many details about the Goblin town of Swindle (Now Brindle) as everything was focused on a Lesser Gnome setting.
"They say the first time ain't the greatest, but if I had a chance to do all again"... well we DO have a chance to do it all again, and this time there have been many lessons learned since that first effort!
The ENTIRE town of Brindle has been added with HAND DRAWN over-land, dungeon and town maps and illustrations, with NPCs who have story hooks that could lead to many sessions of gaming within Brindle.
New School Game, Old School Feel
The Bogey of Brindle is written for the Fifth Edition of the world's favorite RPG, but looks like an old school adventure. Almost all the interior illustrations AND MAPS are hand drawn pen & ink in order to bring back that feeling of nostalgia to DMs and players.
The Adventure begins in Westwego, where the celebration of Firstfeast is rapidly approaching. No deliveries of hooch, pipeweed or tobacco have been seen from the Goblins of Brindle for weeks! The roads are dangerous and something has gone wrong. Can you save Firstfeast? Westwego? What about the HOOCH???!?
Some Things DO Stay the Same
In the last kickstarter we had the writing, illustration, layout and EVERYTHING done before we launched our project. We just needed the funding to go to print. This project is very much like the last one, with a couple of exceptions.
This time we have all the writing, illustration and interior layout complete, but we have not uploaded to the printer yet. Fail Squad Games will be producing modules with unique ISBNs from this project forward. This gives our products MUCH wider distribution across the planet and gets our adventures into major retail outlets. The problem is, ISBNs don't come cheap.
with your support we will buy ISBN's in bulk (at least 10) for future productions. THEN upload to the printer. There is really no more delay than an hour.
This time around, you may notice a $1 or so bump in shipping. This is because we had some issues last time with mail carriers *gasp* folding our modules to stuff them in mailboxes.
Well NO MORE of that! Behold!
Rigid Corrugated book mailers! We already have 200 of these on the way and can order as many as needed. This will ensure that your modules arrive in COLLECTIBLE mint condition!
Why should I care about the art used in Production?
Art by Lloyd Metcalf has shown itself to be collectible by itself and has found its' way into some rather prestigious collections around the globe. Art used in production has a special value because every copy of the image that is sold in print, increases the value of the original artwork incrementally. Keeping a copy of the print product WITH a piece of the ORIGINAL art in production is a collectible investment that will only increase in value as time goes by and copies are sold.
Already copies of some of the discontinued modules (Original Midnight Oliviah, Blackweb Bog - signed) have grazed the $100 mark in auctions WITHOUT any original art included.
With this Kickstarter we will be adding ISBNs to all our future products, and distribution is expected to skyrocket as copies hit retailers like Amazon, Barnes & Noble and about 28 others.
Risks and challenges
This is very similar to our last, and other kickstarters. FSG has delivered all our Kickstarters ON TIME and as described.
