What It Is
Basically, Lix is a professional tool that enables you to sketch in the air without using paper.

LIX 3d printing pen is the smallest pen that does not require paper.
LIX is the perfect tool for making writings, accessories, decoration pieces, art and crafts for kids, artistic jewelry, prototypes, and any different forms of drawings.
How It Works
LIX 3D printing pen has the similar function as 3D printers. It melts and cools colored plastic, letting you create rigid and freestanding structures. Lix has a hot-end nozzle that is power supplied from wall charger. The plastic filament ABS/PLA is introduced in the upper extremity of Lix Pen. The filament goes through a mechanism while moving through the pen to finally reach the hot-end nozzle which melts and cools it down. An interesting fact about this light-weight, engineered pen is that these structures can be formed in any imaginable shape.
ABS FILAMENT : Greater strength, flexibility, malleability and higher temperature resistance. Melting point at 356 °F and works at 446 °F.
PLA FILAMENT : Comes in a wide range of colors and levels of attractive glossy translucency. The plant-based origins have slightly less strength and flexibility than ABS and is also sensitive to moisture. Melting point at 320 °F and works at 356 °F.

The technology, which is used in Lix Pen was developed from scratch. Our main goal was to create a professional tool which is easy to use and will have a high comfort. We redeveloped and redesigned most of the parts you find in 3D printers so that they fit in Lix Pen's small body.
The most difficult problem for us was to reduce the size of the mechanical parts, reposition them and let them work together. We have met many technological limitations in the production of our parts for Lix Pen however, we found successful solutions for that.
We are using a micro planetary gear motor, special innovative material with a very low thermal conductivity and many other things such as another gear box for the filament supply system.
When the mechanism was created and perfectly adapted into a 12mm diameter tube, our second task was to create a slick design based on user experience and visual side. On the final version of Lix Pen, we will as well introduce some little visual and technical modifications.
Risks and challenges
Please note that our product are still in development. We have a prototype that is fully functional which will be improved for the final version.
Right now the filament extrusion is a bit slow, we don't want to provide any specific figures about the speed of extrusion etc. because all this might change in the final version of Lix Pen.

The first challenge we experienced was to reduce the size, make it more useful and finally within a great product design. We have been working on this aim, which was considered impossible — within the realm of the common belief in the hardware industry — to prove that they can certainly be possible.
Our biggest challenge, however, was by far, this campaign. We want to deliver this product to everyone — making something that never existed before, and deliver it properly. We have been working on this preparation to the best of our ability, to take this new leap forward, and what we need now is the encouragement and support from backers.
As you are all aware, 3D printing pen devices are attracting worldwide attention; however, there are not yet products that can drastically change our lives, in the way that LIX does, which are currently available on the market.
