We're Livsn Designs. last year we successfully launched on kickstarter Now we're back with our second campaign!
After a year of taking in your feedback, researching, iterating, and testing our best selling product, we are releasing the second version of the Flex Canvas Pants. We listened to you, and made the adjustments to solidify these pants as your favorite pants for years to come.
To live a more simple, experience-filled life we need clothing that stands up to serious recreation, looks so good you want to wear it every day, and so comfortable we never want to take it off. By striking a balance between thoughtful features and clean, and clutter free lines, we design our pieces to work equally as well on the trail as at the pub, allowing us to own less and live more
The magic is in the balance.
We believe in a transparent and iterative process where we're always refining our products based on field testing. Over time this mindset yields incredible results.

The Flex Canvas Pants are a slim tapered fit. Waist size runs true to slightly trim. Order your normal pants size for a fitted look, or a size up for a roomier fit. Fitted for athletic and slim figures and tapered from the knee down for a clean, modern look. See sizing chart for inseam length by waist size.
Take your favorite pair of pants and a measuring tape and measure these 7 areas to see how the flex canvas fits comparatively. We recommend ordering a size up if you would like a more straight leg fit

- Fabric content: 58% Organic Cotton | 40% Recycled Polyester | 2% Spandex
- Fabric weight: 248 gsm (7.3 oz)
Our Flex Canvas fabric is a durable and super comfortable mid-weight cotton/polyester weave with 2% spandex to allow free range of motion. It has a distinctive cotton canvas look and feel with a polyester content that serves to strengthen the fabric and dry much faster than a fully cotton pant.
Unlike full synthetic pants that never look quite right off the trail, these lie like normal pants. They crease at the hips, drape nicely, and look better after each wear.
Our partner factory has been the secret sauce all along. Their attention to detail in the prototyping process combined with quality craftsmanship have taken our concept and turned it into an incredible product.
A member of our team has been on location at our factory for sampling, inspections, and full production - overseeing the process and forming real relationships with the amazing people working on our products.
There are many ways to vet working conditions and employee welfare at a factory. At our small scale we look for one main indicator: employee tenure. We think that if someone sticks around their workplace for year after year, then there is a reason they stay. We're proud to say many of the skilled people working on our products have been with the same factory for over 10 years!
The name LIVSN comes from the Swedish word "livsnjutare," which roughly translates to "one who lives life deeply; an enjoyer of life." This journey started with a mission to simplify our belongings. With less to manage there's more time in the day, and with more time comes flexibility. We know we won't regret more time outside with friends and family.
We believe clothing should perform well, look good, be ethically made, be environmentally friendly - and it should last. We want to own fewer, well-built things, and repair before replacing.
We make good clothing, we make it with tried and true methods, and we make it with high quality fabrics.
DURABILITY & REPAIRABILITY
One of our main beliefs at LIVSN is that a product that performs well and stands up to extended use is as sustainable as it gets. By buying once and with intention, we're able to consume less. We're designing our products so that when life happens and they inevitably fail, they can be repaired.
STYLE AND DYNAMIC USE
Our way of approaching sustainable style is to use classic silhouettes, refined and tested materials, and clean, modern fits. We want you as the wearer to feel special, but not to call attention to it. What we want is for you to be able to wear LIVSN clothing to the trail, to the pub, or to the (casual) office and not look out of place. When we use technical fabrics and construction, we work to hide those details in a casual look.
We choose our fabrics because they were the best available for the job, trying to source organic and recycled when we can. Some pieces here don't utilize recycled or organic materials because we aren't able to hit the scale needed, but we promise we will switch to recycled and organic as soon as we're able.
THE END RESULT
We hope to come out in the end with something unique, but also familiar. A refined collection dedicated to the highest standards of craftsmanship and mindfulness. We hope you share our values and will help us in our journey to keep what matters.
You can feel comfortable knowing we are backed by Techstars, "the worldwide network that helps entrepreneurs succeed." Our experience going through the Austin '19 accelerator program gives us the tools and guidance we need to be a strong company for years to come.
Andrew Gibbs-Dabney is the founder and CEO of Livsn. He grew up exploring the creeks, rivers, and hollows of the Ozark Mountains near his hometown, growing especially fond of the areas surrounding the Buffalo River and the Mulberry River. While he plays in many outdoor pursuits, these days Andrew is mainly focused on mountain biking, canoeing, and overland travel.
Andrew is passionate and dedicated to values of sustainability and conscious capitalism. He truly believes business success and social progress go hand in hand -- building Livsn on these ideals from day one. He's written extensively on the topic on our blog. Read here if you're interested.
Chris Woollis is mainly involved in Livsn's graphic and product design, but he does so much more. Sharing Andrew's passion for sustainability, he is also a valued part of the braintrust.
He grew up skating and surfing in the seaside city of Santa Barbara. Boardsports have always been Chris's passion and he has recently renewed his enthusiasm for skateboarding. While in the Ozark Mountains of Arkansas, Chris discovered his love for long distance backpacking, and has become an expert in all things ultralight.
THE RED SWEATER PROJECT
Last year we partnered with Cielo, a real-estate developer in Austin, Texas to donate 2,000 fleece jackets to people in need. We coordinated with Front Steps Austin, The Salvation Army, Caritas of Austin, and Mayor Steve Adler to set up a donation point downtown to distribute them. It was an incredible experience and we are honored to have helped. A huge thanks to Cielo for helping us do something good in the community.
SUPPORTING STUDENT MOUNTAIN BIKING WITH NICA
We've been a proud sponsor of the National Interscholastic since the beginning, setting up at every race and supporting school mountain bike teams. NICA organizes beginner-friendly races for junior high and high school kids. These teams create a positive outdoor experience for so many children who otherwise would never be exposed to nature.
For our excellent photo and video content.
For our technical design and sourcing.
For shaping us into a lean, mean sustainability machine.
NICA - For inspiring our next generation of outdoor enthusiasts.
For being amazing partners and donating a Roo Double and Mesa Mat for our camping/climbing scene.
For loaning us the raddest bike we've ever for the cycling scene.
Modus Design Studio - For letting us use their shop to shoot the work scene.
For letting us use their beautiful space to shoot the coffee shop scene.
Risks and challenges
This isn't our first rodeo. Our team has been in the apparel business since 2013 and with our production partners we have decades of experience bringing high-quality outdoor clothing to market. Our factory partner is ready to go, with capacity booked on their line waiting for our order to start production. We've gone through a full sampling and testing process with these pieces to ensure the final production will be to our exact spec.
While we've done this before, and we've done our best to prepare, there can still be delays in production from things like fabric getting held up in customs and delays at the factory. At his previous company, our founder created the customer service processes and he prides himself on being transparent and helpful to supporters. We will be straightforward with any delays and do our best to be communicative and supportive through the process.
With your support, we can make this happen and continue a brand focused on creating high quality clothing for people who want to own less!
