Without you, this story of heroism may never be told. Please, support 'Burning Greed' and be a part of the victory
Alarms sound in the early morning. Sirens wail on Symphony Road. It’s happened again. The neighborhood is burning nightly and there’s nothing you can do but wait in fear.
That is exactly what happened during the 1970s as Boston residents were under siege. Real estate businessmen were making money by burning apartment buildings to the ground, leaving the poor, elderly and minority tenants homeless and several dead. The tenants’ cries for arson investigations were dismissed. Arson was hard to prosecute and arson for profit was business-as-usual across the nation.
A brave group of community activists refused to be silent victims. Their hard work revealed a shocking pattern in the fires and it was enough to convince the state to prosecute and eventually convict 32 men in a conspiracy bigger than anyone suspected. See first-hand this incredible story of heroism, activism and corruption in “Burning Greed”.
What Can You Do?
A team of dedicated and experienced documentary filmmakers stumbled upon this forgotten story in their own backyard. They have worked for months to record the memories of the brave former tenants and courageous individuals from the Arson Task Force and Attorney General’s office, who risked their safety and their careers to bring down a powerful arson for profit ring and force changes in national policy. It’s time to tell this story
We need your help to raise the funds to shoot the rest of the documentary and complete the graphics and audio elements.
From the team at Live Lobster Group and the community activists, we thank you for your support, and we look forward to bringing this untold story to life.
