Once upon a time in Madison, Wisconsin, there were four women with a dream: That dream was to produce the second, full-length album for their alt-country band, Little Red Wolf.
The four women set about recording songs for that album in 2013. Three studio spaces and well over a year later, they actually finished the damn thing. It turns out that babies, roller derby, original musicals, and jobs can make scheduling a little...difficult.
Anyway, the album done, they sought the help of a professional producer to put the finishing mix touches on the thing. And they also remembered, oh crap! It takes money to actually turn all those songs into a final, mixed, printed product!
And so they're doing what all artists eventually do: Asking their friends, family, and fans for a little monetary assistance.
Won't you help Little Red Wolf release their new record into the world? Every little bit goes a long way toward helping make that happen, and you can rest comfortable in the knowledge that YOU are a patron of the arts and are helping to ensure that beautiful music fills our otherwise terribly, gloomy world. Pat yourselves on the back! And drop some digital coin into our...um...box.
The rewards are simple but from our hearts! Get advanced copies of the record before the general public does, or even get a house concert! So great!
Seriously, though, we are so incredibly grateful to everyone who has supported us over the years. We couldn't and wouldn't do this without you.
Risks and challenges
Since we are in the final stages of mixing right now, our funds will be used to pay our mixing engineer for his services (Brian Liston at Clutch Sound) and then we will send the files off for mastering. There is a potential for some back-and-forth in giving and incorporating feedback on the final master, which may delay disc pressing.
After mastering is done we plan to use Sooper Dooper for duplication and packaging. They can normally turn projects around pretty quickly, but there is also a chance we could experience a delay there.
Then finally, we have scouted several locations for our release party, but have yet to nail down an exact date. So we will keep all of our backers posted on the progress of everything!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
