We're about to record our biggest album to date and we want YOU to be a part of it! We make music to feed the soul, to remind us of the deepest, most beautiful part of what it is to be ALIVE, to connect with one another and to share our good with you!
Our upcoming album is called "Leaning Toward the Good." After years of creating and sharing music around the planet, we know that each one of us is here to grow our good, share it with those around us, and make the world a better place. We do this by connecting, by supporting what is most life affirming and joy producing. We're all in this together! And that is why we're asking you to be a part of this ever expanding SPIRAL OF GOOD! We can't do this without you...and we don't want to!
Support the music that moves you! Say YES to what you want to increase in your midst. Water what you want to grow!
If you haven't heard our music yet, here's a short clip:
Share your passion. Grow your joy. Feed the world!
We call our music SONIC NOURISHMENT. Whatever the style, the groove, the language or the key...it's rooted in the heart and is music that makes you feel good!
Your participation is essential! $35,000 is the minimum we need to create a high quality recording (like Erika's previous release, Unexpected, which won several music awards including the Just Plain Folks Album of the Year, Best Female Singer/Songwriter Album, and International Music CD of the Year from the World Arts Celebrity Journal.) We know what it takes to create a world class album and we're ready to do it! A major record label would easily spend over $100,000 to accomplish what we're doing at a fraction of the cost. All that we receive over $35,000 will be used in continuing support of the recording, including marketing/promotion, advertising, product placement, tour support and every other expense it takes to get the completed album out to the public.
We've put together an incredible team of collaborators! Julie Wolf, our producer and keyboard player has worked around the globe with a wide stretch of artists, including Carly Simon, Maceo Parker, Ani DiFranco, and The Indigo Girls. Our drummer, Curt Bisquera, has played with a "who's who" of the pop/rock world: Mick Jagger, Elton John, Bonnie Raitt, Seal, Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers. And our bass player, Paul Olguin, a Bay Area standout, has not only has performed with Huey Lewis and Maria Muldaur, but also recorded on Erika's award winning album Unexpected.
The funds we raise will go to pay our fantastic team of musicians, producer, recording engineer, mastering engineer and the exceptional recording capabilities of the historic Fantasy Studios in Berkeley, CA. This campaign will also finance the graphic design, manufacturing and marketing of the CD.
THE EXPANDING SPIRAL OF GOOD
So now that you've read a bit about the nuts and bolts of the project, we want to share another fundamental part of our campaign. As we bring our good into the world and send it your way, we want to inspire and remind you to grow your good as well! In that spirit, we have created a GALLERY OF GOOD on our website where we will upload photos of everyone who has contributed, sharing what brings them joy or expresses their good. Send us your pictures!
Our incentives are also about sharing the good and expanding the spiral! Whether it's a song dedication you give to someone else, the hosting of a house concert for your community, or bringing us in for a benefit concert for your organization or foundation, there are numerous ways for us to collaborate and increase the GOOD! Let's all LEAN TOWARD THE GOOD together!
With much gratitude and love, Lisa and Erika
Risks and challenges
We're confident about our capacity to deliver a gorgeous album teeming with Sonic Nourishment. We've got the right team assembled and an extraordinary facility in which to record.
The biggest challenges are mostly related to delivery time on our incentives. We've given ourselves a comfortable margin of time to make sure you get what you've signed up for! Our CD release concert is slated for March 14 at the Freight and Salvage in Berkeley, CA. Our final mixing day is slated for January 11. Although there can often be shifts in recording/mixing schedules we've allotted time to adjust if we need some extra days.
It's always possible that unforeseen weather or other challenges may disrupt scheduled performances, but that's pretty rare and we always reschedule to the best of our abilities.
What we know for sure is that as long as we breathe, we'll be creating beauty and making music...Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
