It's All About Community
It takes a village! We at Liquid State Brewing Company are excited to be a part of our fantastic community. The City of Ithaca, in the Finger Lakes region of New York, is home to both Cornell University and Ithaca College along with a population of small farm-sustaining, beer and wine-loving and local business-supporting people. Recent state legislation has helped create a vibrant and developing Beer Trail up and down the lakes boasting more than 30 breweries and hundreds of wineries. Located in Ithaca’s West End District among a growing community of businesses, we plan to make our neighborhood a destination not just for Ithacans, but also for tourists and all visitors alike. Our 2,800 square foot Beer Hall and patio is the perfect location for the community to meet up, enjoy a few beers and have a great time. Along with a basic German-inspired small plate menu, we plan to highlight local food trucks (a growing mobile food faction) to bring our customers a constantly changing menu of tasty bites. Our Beer Hall will also host local events such as live music, podcasts, live radio broadcasts, not-for-profit community fundraising, art openings, talented academic faculty and student speakers and what ever else tickles our fancy.
Well, It's Also About Beer Too...
Our goal is to strive to make amazing beer and also highlight the best from our local market. With our ‘90s era 20-hectoliter Japanese brewhouse we will make everything from the hottest new styles like New England IPAs and Barrel-Aged Sours, to more classic styles like a Belgian White, Czech-Style Pilsner and a German-Style Kölsch (with the traditional Kölsch service). We will also offer other NY beers, ciders, wines and sprits. Utilizing the newly passed NY Farm Brewers license we will incorporate locally sourced malt, hops (some from Liquid State’s 1-acre hop farm), and fruit to make beers you can feel good about drinking. Our plans are to create new and innovative styles of beer while continuing to make our favorite classics.

Wait... How Will My Money Help Again?
Each and every dollar that you spend on Liquid State's Kickstarter campaign ends up doing great things. You are helping to create a special sort of beer hall welcoming to all friends, families, kids, visitors and future friends. Well into our project we decided to take a leap and install a sprinkler system throughout the brewery. Did we do this for the maze of pipes, steampunk gauges, valves and red paint you ask? Actually, no. The sprinkler system means more people, more fun, more skeeball and bigger windows looking out onto the shiny stainless steel tanks. It also means more live music nights, more beer events and more community events. We thank you greatly for helping with this expensive addition to our project. This is our Kickstarter goal.
Kickstarter is a great crowd-sourcing platform to help make great ideas become a reality. At the same time there are great benefits to the backers (that's you). However, Kickstarter is an all-or-nothing model. This means that If we don't reach our goal you will get your pledge back, but you won't receive your awesome perks! So please share our Kickstarter page with all of your chums, companions, compadres, comrades, buddies, sidekicks, schoolmates, cronies, lovers. You get the idea...Every person that you share this page with gets YOU one step closer to your own exclusive rewards and gets us one step closer to opening our doors to you. Now, let's check out all of our great rewards...
Risks and challenges
We are currently trying to finishing up the build-out phase of this project and about to brew our first test batch. As with any start-up there are many challenges and obstacles and we seem to have experienced so many of them already. We will overcome!! Our biggest challenge right now is funding. Without the help of your participation in this campaign we will have to go back to our banks and beg for more money. This would impact our ability to hit our monthly numbers to keep this ship afloat. The biggest risk that you as a backer faces is possibly not being able to come enjoy our beer hall and beers due to a delayed opening.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
