Dear Cradleboard Class Kickstarter Backers,

We have had a very difficult Summer and Fall to say the least. Doug was rushed via ambulance to Abbott and spent over 30+ days in the hospital. He had open heart surgery and they placed a Left Ventricular Articial Device or LVAD in his heart which is a mechanical heart pump. He is in need of a heart transplant but he is not on the list yet as there are many issues that need to be taken care of before they will consider putting him on the transplant list.

The LVAD device that he had implanted has a cord that comes out of his abdomen and  is connected to a monitor and batteries which combined weigh six pounds. We have to monitor this very closely and have dressing changes frequently.

After his discharge, he was admitted an additional 3 times back in the hospital with complications including a stroke that has affected his vision.

So we apologize for not sending out the rewards sooner as Doug's health situation has been very intense. We will begin sending out the rewards within the next few weeks.

Thank you for your patience, support, prayers and understanding.
