Panda Poll

Hey guys

A quick update to show the link for the vote so we can get a better count on things.

https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1F--UtDEJixdBRdkvok9ABfka3SIOj8utvltOHCIoM58/edit?chromeless=1

Something to clarify

1. The poll does not change anything about the original vision of the Limbo universe, even if we have to make a change in the end, Wong is still in the game, just like any other add on units, simply consider him as a hired sword that can be used by both faction. The idea of relocating Wong from stretch goal to Add on is due to the fact that I can see the voice of opposition against Wong continuing to rise which is definitely bad for the motivation to keep unlocking the stretch goals. At the current rate we may not even unlock Wong in the end and everybody will lose! Wong will come with playing cards in both versions. With that said I hope everyone can move past the Wong issue and help us gain more backers as we attempt to unlock all the stretch goals no matter where he ends up.

2. About the schedule. After the campaign, we need at most two more months to finish sculpting all stretch goals (We will finish gluttony and the Dwarf before the campaign ends), then two months to finish mold making as we have planned with the manufacture, and another month for miniature producing. At the same time, Kenny will keep polishing the rules and balance the states through further play tests and we will start printing at the beginning of Jan 2019. If everything goes well, the final game should be ready at the beginning of February which gives us an extra month to fix any unexpected errors, that's why we said we will start shipping during March 2019. Indeed, this is our first board game, but we've been producing miniatures for many years and we really know how to do the job.

3. Here is a close up picture of one of the PVC models. I hope that this will help you to have a better idea about what you can expect for the final product, considering this is only from the first molding and the details can be improved during the 2nd mold fixing. One thing that I have seen in the comments is a question about the square bases. The bases are cast separate from the model but the factory pre-glued the bases onto the models. This is not something I will be able to change. What this does mean is that swapping out the original base should become easier as it is not cast together. Please feel free to use whatever bases you choose.

      If the factory glues the minis to the bases - please, please make sure they do a good job. I had one game on Kickstarter where the glue-job of the factory to the base was atrocious (mini glued in one corner of the base so that most of the mini was hanging over one side of the base etc).

      @KS Huntress, 2nd mold fixing means sharpen the existing detail, making round base means making new mold which is literally can't happen :(

      Wow, the quality and detail of that model looks amazing! :)

      Best solution: Like you proposed in the Update. Move Wong from stretch goal to a resin add on around AU$20, and add the Imp and Tiger Captain as new stretch goal.

      @Limbo: IMHO round bases are improving for the 2nd molding

      @Justin Smith: As stated above, the molds are not final: "I hope that this will help you to have a better idea about what you can expect for the final product, considering this is only from the first molding and the details can be improved during the 2nd mold fixing"

      But round bases are cool. I’ll probably end up doing some scenic bases on some of the Rose Knights anyways :)

      Also while a lot of us would like to have bases unattached for a painting aspect.

      This project is a board game.
      Just like with Zombicide and Rising Sun Blood Rage and all other board games the models come pre-assembled as the majority of people buying board games do not wish to assemble models.

    9. Officer Brush Collaborator on

      The square base is part of the same tool. They are cast in the same tool then assembled.

      @KS Huntress

      The Tool used to produce Plastic models can cost anywhere from 8 thousand dollars and up.

      If they already produced it before hand for many of the models you are asking them to spend a lot of money.

      If you like the panda then vote against him because it says he will be a resin add on

      @Limbo: So it the bases are cast separate from the sculpts, there is no problem to change the Bases to round bases. No excuse for not correcting wrong design decision with at least offering unglued Bases and round base addon.

      Nice update, the poll is good as it's feels much more official and professional.

      Yahoo... As long I get Raphael I'm good. If there are more male knights (with proper faces), I'm all in for the add-ons

      @yong jun park
      Its still under review by Chinese platform and hopefully it can get approved this week. Then we can start at the end of this week or earlier next week. and yes they will help unlocking stretch goals and Raphael is certainly not the final one, we got plenty of demons and knights concepts :P

      The Chinese campaign will happen still but it depends on how much it can actually raise :)

      As for now Raphael is the last goal they have planned.

      What's in the road...a head?

      what about the Chinese funding that you mentioned it earlier?
      when it starts, and when it is going to end. you mention it earlier they could open up more stretch goals...is Raphael is the last stretch goal that has been prepared or is there more things that can be revealed?
