Join us in creating the @ Snow globe
Ever since we created the F**K snow globe in 2005, we’ve been thinking about what a snow globe for the 21st century would be.
Most snow globes are souvenirs that celebrate place. The very first snow globe was the Eifel Tower in Paris in the 1800s.
But the idea of place and time has changed so much since those days, even more so since the dial up modem.
Today you can be anywhere and everywhere at the same time on the internet.
We wanted to create a new snow globe with that kind of feeling.
We searched for a universal symbol when we came upon the @ sign. Though first used as the letter “a” in the 14th century, its usage soon spread to other cultures, By 1971, It turned into our contemporary @ indicating location with the first computer networks.
Its this new meaning that we chose for our snow globe. Today it signifies a completely different idea of location and identity. Exactly where all of us find ourselves now.
The @ snow globe is made with the latest production tools. We first created the @ sign casting master with a laser cutter making silicon molds from it.
The base is designed in 3D modeling software and 3D printed by our friends and neighbors gCreate, who were also backed by Kickstarter.
We're so excited that the @ snow globe is joining the distinguished line of snow globes we’ve been making since 2001.
We hope you will be too, join us in celebrating a new sense of time and place in the 21st Century with the @ snow globe.
As a way to thank you for joining us on the latest snow globe adventure, we're offering a specially curated sampling of some of our best know limited edition works.

Risks and challenges
The biggest challenge facing us is getting the snow globe to market. Your participation in this project will ensure not only that the first production run gets made but that we will have the resources for setting up the distribution and publicizing it.
Our goal is to make the @ snow globe truly global – the hula loop for the digital age - available to snow globe fans and collectors the world over.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
