Ever used your iPhone for listening to music in your car or while being on the move?
If you did, have you ever asked yourself why there are many decent looking music apps but none looks decent enough in both portrait- and landscape-mode? Or why Apple has made their stock music app so much worse with iOS 8 disabling landscape mode completely? And since we're on the topic: why does everyone seem to use tiny buttons?
We constantly use our iPhones in the car and for sports and found it frustrating to use them as the main source for music. The stock music app is just not optimized for being used in such occasions with too tiny icons and clumsy controls.
This is where we come in. Our playback screen is mainly gesture driven and should you need to tap an icon, we made sure it's big enough.
Beautifully designed - making the most of your gorgeous retina display
No matter what you do with our music player on your phone, it will always look great! Be it while driving your car, entertaining your guests at home or being on the move.
Displaying Coverart in all its glory
Who doesn't love seeing the coverart of the song currently being played? To us this is what it's all about. Therefore we made sure to display it all nicely no matter whether it is while playing back or browsing your tunes.
Since there seem to be two parties of coverart lovers - circled and squared - we design both versions for you to decide in the app's settings.
Easy to use
We made sure using the app is straight forward and as easy as possible.
To make absolutely sure you are not feeling lost we have created a tutorial which will be shown upon first launching our app (and it will be accessible from within the settings at any time you wish). It will guide you through the basics so you can start enjoying music the way it was supposed to be right away.
Feature-packed to the max
While we have covered the default features, we will make sure to also pack a ton of exciting features into the app. To list just a few:
The main playback window is fully gesture-driven allowing you to use the whole display skipping, play/pausing (etc.) songs and displaying beautiful album art - perfect to use while jogging or in the car.
Works great in portrait- and landscape-mode
The only truly beautiful looking app for both screen orientations
Great browsing capabilities
With a minimizable header at the bottom which is divided into three categories (browse, miniplayer and source) you can comfortably browse all your music - even one-handed!
Always accessible view selector
You can always change the view while browsing by tapping the top part of the screen, revealing a lengthy list of all available views - no matter where you are
Heart your favorite songs right from the main playback screen and access them in a dedicated list while you browse your library
While playing a tune, you can tell the app to create a playlist with other songs just like the one you are currently playing. Or with all the songs from the currently playing artist etc.
Shuffle through your whole music library but exclude certain artists. A very powerful feature!
Works great with your smartwatch*
Browse your music library and control the music playback right on your wrist. No need to grab your phone when you’re on the move - do it all on your watch.

Who are you guys?
We are two friends who just love to create great things together. It started with Watchfaces for the Pebble Smartwatch which then led to our first successful kickstarter campaign.
While we still love creating said watchfaces we wanted to take the next step and offer a solution to a problem which bugged us for quite some time: a decent, great looking music player app for both portrait- and landscape-mode.
Philipp is the visual guy responsible for pretty much everything you see and Edwin is the coding wizard doing his magic bringing it all to life.
We have been working closely together for the past 2 years on a daily basis and it just works! We complement each other and are - as cheesy as it may sound - a real dream team.
Since this is our second campaign on kickstarter we have learned a lot and know how to best run it. You will be kept posted on all our progress and ride along with us on our journey.
Design and developing an app is very time consuming and quite a risk doing just assuming that it will do well once we publish it.
By pledging you are helping us to minimize this risk and you can be part of the journey and give us valuable feedback while we are bringing it all to life. Much better than leaving feedback in an AppStore rating where we can't respond, wouldn't you agree?
Please bear in mind that the below shown timeline is only for the iOS app and does not include any stretchgoals. Publishing the main app is our primary goal followed by any stretchgoals reached.
Risks and challenges
Time factor - Philipp has a full time job and Edwin is in high school, so sometimes life gets in the way of being able to design and write apps.
However we have already successfully managed to run a kickstarter campaign in the past so we know what we're dealing with and what it takes.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
