I'm a 2019 graduate from NYU who's moving to SF and starting a pop-up restaurant for four guests every two weeks in my apartment!
This past year has been a crazy ride in terms of cooking for me - I started off taking a food science class in the fall that taught me the fundamentals of cooking. This past semester, I've been hosting 6-8 course tasting menus for four people every two weeks out of my tiny NYC apartment. I've enjoyed the experience a ton and am packing it up to restart it back in San Francisco :)
I've prepared dishes ranging from duck/rabbit to caviar/tuna and everything in between and I'm really excited to recreate the menu over this summer for a fall re-launch of the pop-up!
A few photos of the dishes that I've been making can be seen below:
And a sample menu can be found below as well:
This has been a passion project of mine for a while now and I can't wait to start it back up in SF. I'm looking to raise $500 to get this off the ground with new utensils, tools, and plates/bowls as well as experiment with new ingredients over the summer. Anything (even just a dollar) helps and thanks so much for supporting me on this project!
Risks and challenges
One of the biggest challenges is really just the time commitment, but I've been able to manage doing a tasting menu once every two weeks (sometimes once every week) this past semester while taking five courses. I usually spend Friday/Saturday preparing and Sunday is when I host the actual menus.
Also, just as a note (will be added in the FAQs) - I will not be able to provide vegetarian tasting menus at the moment.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
