From every land mighty warriors come to Glori Eternia in order to prove their might on the battlefields. This clash of cultures, might and egos will lead to plenty of underhanded tactics in combat, as warriors collide not only with the enemy but with each other as well.
In the sea of battle, the glory seeking champions will find treasures, battle fearsome foes and even suffer blows that would defeat any mere mortal. But these warriors have no time for failure, for they fight for Glori Eternia!
Glori Eternia is a fast paced card game for 2 to 4 players, in which players compete to be the first to defeat one-hundred foes on the field of battle. The game takes 15-30 minutes to play. Around 7-8 minutes per player.
The more we can raise in pledges in this campaign, the more we can support Glori Eternia with extra content. These exclusives will be our thank you to those backers who help us develop our business!
To play, shuffle the deck and deal five cards to each player. Place the remaining cards face-down within reach of all players, forming the draw pile. If you're using the score track, place the playing piece for each player on the '0' starting space. If this is your first game of Glori Eternia, the player who most recently finished reading a fantasy story goes first. Otherwise, the loser of the last game goes first.
Play a card or discard two cards from your hand.
Resolve the card’s effects if played.
Draw back up to five cards.
The player on the left now takes their turn.
Victory Conditions: Once one player has defeated over 100 foes the round continues until it reaches the starting player. The game is then over and the player with the highest score is the winner. They are recorded in the history books as the greatest hero of their time.
You can read the current version of the rules here or see the How To Play video below.
Glori Eternia has three main types of cards: attack cards, item cards and hazard cards.
Attack cards represent moves you are using in combat to fell your foes or resolve issues on the field of battle.
Swift Move is a special attack card which does not defeat any enemies when it is played. Instead it can be played at any time to cancel another player's card play, sending that card to the discard pile with no effect.
Item cards give you benefits as long as they remain in front of you. Each player can have one item in front of them at a time.
Hazards are played on other players and halt their progress on the field of battle. They represent injury or being locked in combat with a powerful boss.
Below are our initial rough estimates for shipping the core game. These are just estimates - costs may rise due to weight increase as more items are unlocked via stretch goals and add-on purchases you choose.

Risks and challenges
During our extensive playtest phase, several methods of production were explored; we tested different finishes and thicknesses of card stock used in the manufacture of each Glori Eternia deck before deciding on final production partners. We've settled on a superior finish with an established playing card manufacturing company based in England, eliminating any overseas factoring that can often beset other Kickstarter projects.
We've listened carefully to our many playtesters over the months and have fed those findings back into the design - the enthusiastic response we've had has been greatly encouraging!
We aim to keep all our backers regularly updated with news on the Kickstarter page, as well as via email bulletins. A target of November 2016 for delivery allows for plenty of time for the manufacture and distribution of Glori Eternia.
