Pixel Tactics is a 2-player card game that captures the tactical strategy of games like Final Fantasy Tactics, Disgaea, Soul Nomad, or Fire Emblem in card game format. Battles take about 30 minutes to play, and each game is vastly different, due to the powerful influence of Leaders over gameplay!
✩ In this project, we want to print a big starter box for Pixel Tactics, called Pixel Tactics Deluxe! This large box contains everything for two players to play the game: cards, rules, punch tokens, and extra storage space for all the other Pixel Tactics games in print (sleeved or unsleeved)! Designed for both new players and veterans alike, Pixel Tactics Deluxe is a complete game on its own, and also combines with other Pixel Tactics games to form a larger set, with which you can play many of the over 7 new play modes introduced in the game!
If you already have other Pixel Tactics Games, there's plenty to look forward to: All 25 heroes in Pixel Tactics Deluxe are completely new!
“I’m a huge fan of Pixel Tactics… if you want a fast, 2-player card game, Pixel Tactics is one of the best.” - Tom Vasel, Dice Tower
“Pixel Tactics may be the best card game I own… If you’re looking for a great 2 player game with plenty of decisions and depth, without completely burning your brain, Pixel Tactics is the answer.” - Steven Riola, The Deep Ones
“There are so many little things that stand out about Pixel Tactics — the dozens of powers, the way everything feels overpowered but ultimately balances out, the fact that this “minigame” is actually one of the deepest and most combo-intensive games I’ve played all year… it’s absolutely wonderful and original.” - Dan Thurot, Space Biff
"An easy to learn, highly tactical game that has immense replay value" - Board Game Quest, Score: 4/5 stars

Pixel Tactics is simple to learn but complex in depth. Choose your leader, and recruit heroes to construct a unit around them. Use your heroes, your orders, and your leader powers to pummel your opponent’s unit and take out their leader. Once you can take out the opposing leader, you win!
Check out some of the review videos above for a detailed walkthrough of how to play the game and how the cards work.
Multi-use Cards - Each card can be played in 5 different ways. Recognizing the key time to play a card and where to play it will mean the different between victory and defeat!
Leaders - Every hero has the option to be promoted to a leader. Leaders have vastly magnified powers that will affect your entire unit and inform your whole strategy for the game.
Variable Play Modes - Do you want to play Standard, Draft, Epic, Siege, Skirmish, or 2v2? There are tons of modes to play that will keep you coming back for more. The more core sets you have (Deluxe, PT1, PT2, etc...) the more play modes become available.
Storage Box - The box for Pixel Tactics Deluxe stores all core Pixel Tactics games (sleeved and unsleeved) and all of the minipaks as well (and includes room for future expansions)! It’s an easy way to keep your collection in one place. It also comes with randomizer setup cards, so you can customize your PT game on the fly.
Pixel Tactics Deluxe - NEW! - Deluxe is both a starter set and a collector’s box. Large enough to hold all of the other Pixel Tactics Games, Deluxe comes with two starter decks of well-rounded heroes, as well as a folded playmat, some high-quality tokens, and a big rulebook containing a variety of game modes. New game modes include Skirmish, Siege, Epic, Cross Duel, and Draft Tournament, to name a few!
Promo Pack - The promo pack contains over 25 cards from the history of Pixel Tactics. It contains every promo from the game's inception back in 2011, plus a bunch more from new sponsors!

We’ve produced the first few Pixel Tactics games through other Kickstarters as add-ons and bonuses. We want to keep advancing Pixel Tactics with new cards and gameplay, but we have a lot of other projects that are tying up our funds at the moment. Pledging to this project helps us to keep this game growing, and gets new cards into your hands faster. It also helps us to keep the first three Pixel Tactics games in stock at retailers, and to support the game with new modes and promotional cards.
We realize that there are a LOT of other games on Kickstarter you could back, and we really appreciate you choosing ours. Thanks so much for your support!
Lead Designer - D. Brad Talton Jr. - Brad designed Pixel Tactics 2 years ago, after being inspired by Fábio's pixel renditions of the characters from BattleCON. At first just part of a larger collection of games, Pixel Tactics has become a full-fledged game of its own. Brad works to instill each hero in Pixel Tactics with memorable effects and gameplay.
Lead Artist - Fábio Fontes - Over the course of 2 years, Fábio Fontes has worked tirelessly to bring the characters of Pixel Tactics to life. He draws all art for the game, including the pixelized characters, the logos, the icons, and the cover characters. His skilled pixel art brings the characters to articulate life, despite their tiny size.
Level 99 Games - Level 99 Games is a team of dedicated artists, designers, and creators that work full-time to bring board and card games to life. Our offices are based in Albuquerque, New Mexico. You can check out all of our projects past and future at www.level99games.com!
