About this project
(This campaign is EU, Canada, and USA-friendly–rewards in these territories will ship from within the territory, avoiding customs fees)
Earlier this year, we released Millennium Blades, the CCG Simulator Card Board Game. What's a CCG Simulator? It's a board game about the entire CCG Experience. You play as a group of friends who are collecting a popular CCG, Millennium Blades, by opening packs, selling on the aftermarket, trading with friends, and winning tournaments. You'll go from starter decks to world champion all over the course of a 2-3 hour game session!
Millennium Blades is an extremely ambitious game, consisting of over 700 cards and 300 unique illustrations. We were very nervous about how the game would fare in the board gaming community. Would it resonate with the experience of CCG players from around the world, or would it just be too crazy?
Within 48 hours of its launch, Millennium Blades was completely sold out from our warehouse, making it the most successful title launch we've ever had at Level 99 Games. The reception to the game has been overwhelmingly positive, with incredible praise coming from all across the spectrum of reviewers and players.
Millennium Blades is a huge game. It's a game that could only exist with Kickstarter, and it's simply too big for us to reprint without doing another Kickstarter project.
We would like to invite you to join us in bringing a second printing of Millennium Blades to life, so we can share this great game with players who missed it the first time around! For fans that want to get involved but already have Millennium Blades, we've created some very cool new mini-expansions that can be used with the game!
We expect the new printing of Millennium Blades to arrive in November, alongside the first major expansion, Set Rotation.
Please note, this project is to fund a direct reprint of Millennium Blades. There will be no changes between the first and second printings of the game. However, the Set Rotation Expansion will contain some updated cards and rules clarifications.
"This brilliant, demanding, glorious monster of a game combines all of the disparate parts of CCGs... Millennium Blades truly captures the essence of what makes collectible card games so much fun to buy, sell, trade, and play while still feeling wholly unique. 9.5 AMAZING" - Travis Williams, TechRaptor.net
"Millennium Blades is a game about a game, one of the most meta things I’ve ever played, not to mention utterly magical in how it transports its players to a simpler time, when a rare foil card might be the highlight of the week and cards were freely traded between friends. For those who love games and the people who play them, I cannot recommend it enough." - Dan Thurot, Space Biff
"An ambitious idea distilled into an accessible game of equal parts clever design, evolving game play, and tongue-in-cheek fun... What is there to say about a game that does exactly what it sets out to do, and does it with the Level 99 patented elegance and excess... 9.9" - Hai Kulture
"Millennium Blades was clearly a labor of love for the designer and publisher and represents a most beautiful ode to geek culture... It is frantic and fun and can feel chaotic at times, but it is actually full of strategic and tactical decision points to challenge and engage players. Between the fun and the strategy, I can't see myself parting with this stunning achievement of a game EVER! SO MUCH LOVE! I could play this all day!" - Mina's Fresh Cardboard
"The people who like this will likely love it. I really enjoyed this, and I'm really looking forward to playing it again. SEAL OF EXCELLENCE." - Tom Vasel, Dice Tower Reviews
"This thing is glorious in a lot of ways... I would recommend this highly to anyone who has played a TCG ever." - Joel Eddy, Drive Thru Review
"Millennium Blades is no collectible card game, but it perfectly encapsulates the feel of collecting, trading and competing in the world of a competitive CCG. It's both frantic fun, and thoughtful, deep tactical play... a perfect score: 6/6. So far, easily my top game of 2016!" - Sean Ramirez, The Dukes of Dice Podcast
"Its deck building is compelling, its tournaments exciting, and with a nearly endless array of card combinations and set permutations, to say that game has immense variety would be an understatement... It's turned out to be one of my favorite games this year, both with my personal interest and as a clever, original game. 5/5" - Ryan LaFlamme, Cardboard Republic
"As a lover of CCGs, I have played a lot in my day. Not so much now, though. It is a hole in my life really. Millennium Blades really scratches that itch. Actually it comes along, massages in a nice soothing balm, sings you a sweet little song and BOOM, you forgot the itch existed. This CCG simulator is thrilling, fast placed, innovative, and just a down right bucket of fun. As a matter of fact, I do not want to even talk about it any more, I just want to play it." - Robb, Blue Peg Pink Peg Board Gaming Podcast
"Millennium Blades is one of the most fun & clever games that we've played. We can't wait to play it more!" - Edward Uhler, Heavy Cardboard Podcast
"The crazy fools have only gone and done it. It shouldn’t work, it really shouldn’t, but it does like gangbusters... ridiculously wild fun the work of a deranged genius... a contender for me of my game of the year 2016." - Mike B, Who Dares Rolls
"If you’re like me, and you love CCGs but don’t have the time anymore, this game is for you. If you’re not sure whether you like CCGs, but this sounds like fun, this game is for you." - Chris Wilczewski, Geek On Anything
Since Millennium Blades has been out on the market, there are a bunch of great reviews and tutorials to be found on youtube!
My favorite explanation of the game is still the preview EphFive did for us last year. Check it out!
If you want to see a complete playthrough of the game, Cardboard Stacker put together this great video of a group of friends playing!
Out of respect for our retailers, we try to keep our pledge levels at the same price as buying the game at your local store. However, we include the non-retail mini-expansions at each tier, to give you a unique value for being a part of this Kickstarter Project!
Millennium Blades contains 5 player boards, 2 market boards, a bunch of tokens, a score pad, and cards. Like, a lot of cards. There are over 700 cards in the base game! Well, the graphic says it best...
Players build a store deck by selecting cards from among 28 different card sets, representing the different expansions in the game's history. Players will also acquire promotional cards, and may even be successful enough to get their own Pro Player Cards made!
So yeah... if you like cards, we've got you covered! :D
Set Rotation Contents
Set rotation expands on the base game of Millennium Blades in a huge way, introducing over 450 new cards, including 12 card sets for your store, 4 new player characters, 9 promo card sets, and 4 co-operative scenario bosses.
With Scenario Mode, you can now play alone or with friends against deadly high-power bosses!
The Fusion Chaos Mini-Expansion brings two new players characters (13 cards each), a bronze and a silver promo card set (6 cards each), and a set of 12 new unique deckboxes for your core set!
The Final Bosses Mini-Expansion brings the scenario bosses from Set Rotation into your store deck, with human-playable versions of the epic-powered cards and accessories used against you in co-operative mode. The box contains 4 Master-level Sets (12 cards each), which can be shuffled into the store deck to change what cards are available during play.
No project is complete without Stretch Goals! We're putting together some goals which will enhance this project for both new and returning backers of Millennium Blades! Please share the project and help us reach these cool extras!

Risks and challenges
Millennium Blades is an extremely ambitious game, but we've managed to print it once, and we're streamlining our processes and improving our logistics to deliver it even more smoothly this time around.
Level 99 Games has delivered over 9 Kickstarter projects, including top-rated games like BattleCON, Pixel Tactics, and Argent: the Consortium. We have most of the kinks of logistics and production worked out this time around, and we have partnered with LIYA International, a factory of excellent reputation and quality, to bring you Millennium Blades and its supporting products.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
