How about EXCEED subscription model or a loot box model :P
It will depend on a few different factors. I can't say for sure yet.
is season 2 going to be on kickstarter as well?
And that's a great thing mind you!
The art very much reminds me of vampire hunter D
@Chad: It's ok, I assumed the same thing at first.
But yeah, having licensed IP would've been great but I prefer original IP. More flexibility and freedom. Not to mention if you keep finding artists like this I'm all for it. But I like having each season reflect a different artist and theme. It really gives the vibe that the EXCEED universe is actually a multi-verse (like Marvel vs Capcom or any Vs game).
I love that artist's work and I'm stoked to see what you do in the horror anime style. I bet it will be better that any licensed material anyway.
I didn't look that hard. I stand corrected
That's unfortunate that it hasn't worked out yet, but I'm sure someone will come around -- perhaps after they see some sales figures.
Actually wickedalucard is a guy according to the DA profile.
While I'm not usually a fan of gothic horror, her art looks very well done and I'm looking forward to what she does with the character design.
Personally, I'm happiest to see some new Level 99 IP's. Brad does such a good job on design and lore that it'll almost definitely be better than the typical mess that most fighting game IP's seem to be. I don't feel like we've lost anything more than some gimmicks. Plus, the more control Lvl99 has over the design & production, the more faith I have in the game overall.
This artist is seriously skilled.
Good luck on creating your own world. I'm sure it's going to be cool!
The art-style looks great. Can't wait to see what happens with it!
I love it when board game publishers go to DeviantArt for their artwork. The same thing happened with Core Worlds, and it’s the most beautiful game I own.
Holy moly the artist has some really amazing art pieces. Are you going to let them design the card frame layout? :D
I still insist on getting SoulCalibur at some point, but this beautiful new art is just . . . beautiful. Good move.
Sorry to hear about the issues with the other companies, but I am glad to hear about the attempt to throw your own hat in the ring at making more original IP content. Can't wait to see the new concepts.
