Miniature samples received, plus new artworks!
Greetings and Happy New Year!
We have some exciting news for Empyreal: Spells & Steam to start off the new year. Just this week, we received samples of the miniatures that will appear in the game!
The trains came out crisp and clean. The details are great (as the picture below makes a little clearer).
We had a wash paint put on the resource tokens, and this adds quite a bit of character, especially to the wood, flower, and ore resources.
The city piece looks great and is really tough. It will hold up against repeated use.
There are a few things we still want to fix with these pieces: The red and blue resources are a little too close in color to the red and blue trains. The clear resource is meant to be white with a purple paint wash, so that will need to be dealt with. We're consulting with the printer now to make these changes.
Our art gallery this month is quite impressive! Check it out!
First off, we have Drexl, the sinister alternate captain of the Afterworld Express.
Next up, Lucca Turlotte. In her first appearance in Argent's Summer Break expansion (left), she was a freewheeling Mysticism student. Now (right) she and her familiar have graduated and become railway attendants for the Gesselheim Imperial Line.
Finally, we're introducing a backer-created character, Leto Fulgore. A seasoned researcher in Argent's Natural Magick department, Leto has made extensive study of elemental energies and their use for driving magitech engines. Now he brings these specialties to the corporations working to unite the continent. Created by Bryan Behl.
Art is coming in at a more regular pace now that we're past the holiday break. We're on schedule to have Empyreal to press during February and in your hands by May. I'll be sure to keep you updated with all new developments, so keep watching this space for any news!
