Happy Halloween! Miniature Previews + Art Update

Greetings friends, and Happy Halloween!

I'm excited to share with you some previews of our progress on the art and sculpting front.

Miniature Sculpts

First off, I have factory proofs for all of the game's miniatures! These proofs are not in color (that step comes later) but they show off the detail and precision of the sculpts. The Ticket to Ride train is included alongside just to give a comparison of scale and detail.

The detail in the 8 varieties of trains came out beautifully. These are going to look great in color (or in transparent plastic, for our ghost trains!)

In this shot, you can see the scale of our city piece. That's a little smaller than one hex of in-game terrain.

These are the six goods miniatures included in the deluxe edition of the game. In the final game, our plan is to have them painted with a wash tone, adding accents to the tiny details in the mold.

Art Previews

Our lead artist Nokomento has been putting in excellent work every week to bring more specialists and captains to life. Here's a look at some that were finished recently!

Hai of Noirwood returns from Argent! It looks like she's teaming up with Dareios this time to serve some unique drinks in the dining cars of your railway.

Alternate Captains - Concept Work

I mentioned in a previous update, that we decided to include Alternate Captains based on the performance of the Pledge Manager. I'd like to show you what progress has been made on that front so far!

In order to help Nokomento finish up the alternate captains, we've brought on a new set of hands to assist with concept art. Here is a look at Mosh's work conceptualizing some of the additional playable captain characters!

Timeline News

Things are coming together, but I've taken a more realistic look at our art timeline. Nokomento is doing a great job and putting in a ton of effort, but realistically we have to anticipate that her pace is about 2 artworks a week, rather than the 3 we had optimistically hoped for when starting. With this in mind, I'm revising our planned delivery date for May 2019. If art is done faster though, we'll move as quickly as we're able.

Thanks again for staying turned the development of Empyreal, and look out for more updates next month!

Trains look amazing and art as usual is fantastic.
About rules, could you please clarify that all build actions (edge of the map, adjacent to city/wasteland...) have also to be network-adjacent excepted the ones with the "anywhere" icon ?

Winter will be way toooooo loooong....

Yes, everything is still available on TTS, and has been updated with new balance and rules. :)

I love getting updates from level 99 because they are always transparent with the process. While I'm sad (of course) for the delay, I can understand why. I'm just so excited to get this played.

If I take the plunge and download Tabletop Simulator, is this still available there? Would all players need a copy of the mod? And would any backers play with me (assuming time could be found)?

The trains look amazing. I really can't wait it all at the end.

are you also doing the trains in a wash tone? That would be awesome!
