Well Hello Again

Contrary to what you might have believed, production on Letter to Jane has never stopped and today I wanted to share a preview with you all. The app has been rebuilt from scratch thanks to all the wonderful new things I've learned since becoming the Creative Director for 29th Street Publishing.

I posted a preview of the app on Letter to Jane not too long ago, and I'd encourage you to check it out if you haven't. I'd also like to share a quick demo video of what the core of the app will function.

How this handles images is something I've spent a great deal on and it is the heart and soul of this app. Thanks to my time with Port and 29th Street I learned enough to build this gallery from the ground up and hope it's simple enough to use so that you can make an array of your photos and that's it, the app will resize for you, (as anything there's a bit more to it, but that's essentially it). Building this new photo gallery has also greatly increased performance compared to any past issue of Letter to Jane. I hope you can tell I'm pretty happy with it.

I'd like to share the lineup you'll see in issue 04:

  • Wim Wenders
  • Marc Maron
  • Miranda July
  • Whit Stillman
  • Marlene Marino
  • Jeff Luker
  • Katherine Squier
  • Katarina Šoškić
  • Sam Smith
  • Sara Cwynar
  • Ana Kraš
  • Lukasz Wierzbowski
  • Mads Teglers
  • Neon Indian
  • Plus more original work.

Important Note for Backers With Ads

Please get a hold of me ASAP so we can get your ad space in the issue, thank you.

I do apologize for the how this project has unfolded but I do believe it is still something great that I have been putting all my time into. Every night is devoted to getting this out as soon as possible. As you can see the app is pretty much built, the majority of work left is some final edits. If you have questions please get a hold of me, thank you.

As James said not too bad with a full-time job.
Most importantly it looks great and there is no point rushing and compromising!

Umm I wasn't finished with that comment, accidentally hit the post button. I just wanted to add that sometimes our passions have to take a side seat (not entirely a back seat) to earning a crust and keeping the lights on, and this is understandable. Take your time, make it good. Looking forward to seeing issue 4.

Looking good Tim. With regard to the time it has taken to develop, while trying to maintain a full-time job, you're not doing too badly.
