Letterbox is a beautifully shot film about a Muslim girl whose love of music compels her to hitch hike from Bradford to Glastonbury, but why is she wearing her mums burka! A film that crosses many genres, genders and ethnicities. We have finished the shoot and edit, it cost us time and creative dedication to get this far. We now need to find some funds to complete. We need to pay for clearance licences on the songs we have used, sound design and film festival entry fees. Your pledges will help us polish the final product before it goes into UK film festivals. If we go over our target we will be splitting the remainder of your pledges between all the unsigned musicians who have donated their music to the film.
Risks and challenges
The challenges we have are to do with copyright licences, and although we have artist permission to use our few chosen licensed tracks, getting clearance from publishers just seems to take forever. We are very small fry with a tiny budget, this means we are not at the top of the pile. People just don't get back to us. We will get there, it's just slow. We have good industry support and that is definitely in our favour. A lot of creative effort has gone it to Letterbox and we are confident that this film will get noticed so we are very dedicated to finishing it. We will not give up until it is on a big screen. We want as many people to see it as possible. Thanks.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
