Let's go to the beach... with our unique beachclean sarongs / pareos!
We are starting with 3 beachclean sarong designs of plastic ocean trash washed up on our beaches.
Designed by me, Hannah Tofts. Using my 7 year collection of plastic ocean trash washed up on west coast Scotland. Artist/designer now accidental eco participator..
Beachclean sarong: SWIM
Sunny rainbow colours printed on white, 100% unbleached cotton, size: 200 cm x 110 cm.
Beachclean sarong: OCEAN
Blue colours printed on white, 100% unbleached cotton, size: 200 cm x 110 cm.
Beachclean sarong: SPLASH
Happy beach colours printed on white, 100% unbleached cotton, size: 200 cm x 110 cm.
Your beachclean sarongs are packaged and posted without plastic:
Each sarong is packaged in a cardboard box, sealed with a sticker for the love of plastic free oceans, with a postcard of the artwork to keep, a postcard for you to send to a friend and a Letsgotothebeach postcard to say thank you!
Let's go to the beach supports the global marine pollution community:
If we succeed in reaching our Kickstarter target to produce a first print-run, and start selling online we will donate 5% of profits to the marine pollution community. Every sarong you buy will contribute and help raise awareness.
It's all about quantity; we need a big enough print-run per design to achieve an affordable price for a printed and finished sarong to sell and package to you!

"I hope Hannah carries on making her fantastic master pieces and inspires more people to do the same like other schools or other adults. She has done a wonderful thing and I will always remember the time that I spent with her. Also I will tell other people about doing the same thing... I will definitely try and do the same" Evie, 9yrs
"They had a lot of fun exploring, discovering and experimenting with the possibilities for being creative and imaginative with washed-up plastics... Hannah challenged and motivated everyone and they all participated enthusiastically and had fun doing so. It was accessible to those with additional support needs too. The project was very successful and exceeded all expectations..." Namaste Bevan, Teacher, Achahoish Primary School
"It was fun getting the stuff from the beach to make pirate faces. It was worth it for all the bits and bobs because if we hadn’t the beach would be a mess." Benjamin, 8yrs
"in the amazing workshop sessions that followed, the children were inspired... the whole experience has given our beach cleans a new sense of purpose. It has motivated the children to look more closely at their environment, to appreciate that recycling can be a fun and interactive activity... and keep Argyll beautiful.." Bernie Mcmillan, Headteacher, Craignish and Kilninver Primary Schools

I started Letsgotothebeach as a creative response to a global issue on my new beach doorstep after a move from a city to a sea. Our beachclean sarongs are a small part of a big concept beginning all on Kickstarter! A culmination of 7 years creating plastic-ocean-trash imagery and concepts to get corporates to sponsor and use with positive marketing and finance. I developed quirky, accessible, playful, visual impact material to make it memorable, to promote awareness about plastic in our waters. Companies, governments, associations and .orgs need us creatives to get your attention; there's a lot of information about dead sea creatures and Plastic Soup out there to digest. It's easy to ignore if it's not on your doorstep. So we created a product to sell to finance us to do more and promote awareness. We didn't aim to set up a textile company, though we've done amazingly so far, over a year invested, sampling around the world and ready to go, to print now! Amazing what you can do if you are passionate and believe. We hope your backing and pledge action media will eventually attract specialist partners to help expand the Letsgotothebeach concept. We need you to help get us all involved, keeping our oceans and beaches clean. It's a big idea from a tiny team of big thinking creatives.

Risks and challenges
Our challenge is to achieve an affordable price per sarong with quality responsible production. It's about finance; we need a big enough print-run to bring the price down per sarong to sell. It's ambitious. We are not a textile company or a fashion brand. Printing textiles or books both demand large print-runs to bring the price down to an accessible price. We simply need quantity reaction; your reaction!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
