Every new parent knows that no matter how careful you are when you're changing diapers, you almost always end up with a mess on your changing pad cover. After my sister-in-law Jenn had her second baby, she grew pretty tired of washing her cloth cover every day. There had to be a better way! When she couldn't find one, she invented one: a waterproof cover that you can simply wipe clean.
We’ve tested these covers in our own nurseries, and our friends and family have too. Honestly, we don’t know how we ever lived without them. Now, we have a patent and a manufacturer (in the USA!), and we are ready to share this solution with everyone.
Because we're parents ourselves, we are adamant about using materials that are free of PVC, lead, phthalates and other chemicals that are harmful to a baby's development. Our goal is a soft, safe, beautiful changing pad cover that is a luxurious addition to a nursery AND makes parents lives just a little bit easier. Check out our website (www.bubbaby.com) for a closer look at the different colors and patterns we'll be offering. There's something beautiful for every nursery.
We've been working on this project for nearly a year, and we've financed product design and development, product testing, and source materials. We're asking for $3,500 to help us order a large enough first run from our manufacturer to bring the manufacturing cost down to a sustainable level.
Thanks so much for checking us out. From our family to yours -- wishing you days filled with a little more joy, and a little less mess!
Risks and challenges
We’ve spent months lining up materials suppliers, working with our manufacturer on perfecting our design, and safety testing our products to meet (and exceed) government requirements. All that’s left is the final step: ordering a large enough batch of covers to bring the manufacturing cost down to a sustainable level. Because we’ve already successfully tackled most of the production steps, we don’t expect that there are a whole lot of outstanding variables that will cause delays. However, because we have experienced plenty of surprises and delays up to this point, we know we can’t rule them out. We’ve built some buffer into our timeline to make sure that we can deliver to our supporters on time, and we will communicate openly and transparently with you if we run into any unexpected snags that put our delivery time at risk.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
