OUR STORY
My friends and I wanted to buy a quality, well designed luxury watch but were frustrated with the current state of the bloated luxury watch industry. Brands, middle men, brokers, and retailers regularly mark-up luxury watches up to 1000%, severely inflating the true cost of a quality affordable timepiece. We started Leonard & Church to create a new way to buy a luxury watch. We want to offer meticulously crafted, handmade luxury watches at a radical price point.
HOW WE DO IT
- Supply Chain - Thanks to our manufacturing partnerships and direct-to-consumer approach, we skip the industry’s middle men markups (wholesalers, brokers, and distributors) and pass these savings to you.
- Design - We’ve spent over a year working with our manufacturers to develop prototypes and perfect our designs. We obsessed over every last detail and are proud to share our first collection of elegant, classic and clean designs for both women and men.
- Customer Experience - We will do whatever it takes for you to be completely satisfied with your customer experience. We sell directly to you online so you do not have to deal with commission-driven salespeople at luxury watch outlets and department stores. We also skip the retail markups, the expensive advertising, and the promotional and marketing gimmicks.
- True Quality - We’ve leveraged our unique personal relationships to partner directly with several of the world’s leading luxury timepiece manufacturers, who for decades have hand-produced luxury watches that retail around the world for over $800. They have produced watches for many well-known retailers and luxury brands around the world. Fun fact: one of our manufacturers produces the watch that President Obama wears in office. We're so confident in the quality of our timepieces we are offering a 10 year limited warranty on all of our watches.

Our collection of 15 classic unisex watches are housed in surgical grade stainless steel cases that measure 40mm in diameter. These cases are custom designed to be extremely thin (6.6mm thickness) yet durable. These watches feature scratch-resistant sapphire crystal lenses, Miyota Quartz movements and are water resistant up to 50 meters. A variety of high-quality straps include Crocodile pattern padded leather, Double Stitched NATO Nylon with leather backing, and Woven Tweed with leather backing. We're so confident in the quality of our timepieces we are offering a 10 year limited warranty on all of our watches.
The Chronograph Collection:
Our collection of 3 chronograph unisex watches are housed in surgical grade stainless steel cases that measure 42.5mm (#16) and 45.0mm (#17 and #18) in diameter. The extremely durable cases measure 13.2mm (#16) and 12.3mm (#17 and #18) in thickness. The watches feature scratch-resistant sapphire crystal lenses, Miyota Quartz movements, Crocodile pattern padded leather and are water resistant up to 50 meters. We're so confident in the quality of our timepieces we are offering a 10 year limited warranty on all of our watches.

Technically, we are a small group of graduate students, designers, entrepreneurs and young professionals working in finance and fashion. Really, we are a group of best friends and watch enthusiasts bound by our friendship, interest in fashion, and passion for pushing the boundaries.
Leonard & Church was founded in New York City by several friends. Our objective: to offer meticulously crafted, handmade luxury watches at a radical price point. We started Leonard & Church to create a new model - to make luxury watches accessible. Our name pays homage to a neighborhood and a city that brought us together.

We have beautiful prototypes and packaging ready. We’re on Kickstarter to raise the capital we need for our first run. We’re trying to change the luxury watch industry. We know it’s a lofty goal and a long road. But with your support, we believe this can be the start of something revolutionary.

Risks and challenges
Our primary challenge is spreading the word. While there is always the risk of manufacturing delays, we are extremely confident in our production timeline and that you will have your watches by our November 2014 delivery date. We have produced prototypes and have spent the last year preparing for this moment. Our manufacturers have decades of experience producing handmade luxury watches and are ready to go.
