One Elegant case for your iPhone 6 and your readers.
Just a fingertip touch away.
- Text just a bit too small to read?
- Hard to see that mobile web content clearly?
- What does that wine label say?
- I can't read this receipt . . . ?
- Can someone lend me their glasses?
- How much 'does' that say?
If you've ever heard anything like that, then read on!
Most of us now carry our phones with us all of the time.
Smart phones have become an essential item; and not only for calls and text but to search the Internet, emails, navigation and mobile content with the ever-growing use of apps.
However we also want to travel light. Particularly when we go out.
Jeans and T-shirts only just accommodate the wallet and phone; reading glasses are often the first to be left behind. Big hand-bags are fine but sometimes you just want to take your clutch purse.
Every day . . . those of us who need glasses - need them every day!
And sometimes it's a really necessary, even costly situation.
- guessing the fine print and adding the wrong tip!
- misreading the back of the packet in the supermarket
- not being able to check the auto-correct! oh oh!
Lenzcase provides the perfect solution, because your readers will always be with you. From the cleverly engineered spring-loaded mechanism that 'snaps' the readers out for instant use, to the tactile textured surface that sits ergonomically in your hand, your Lenzcase is the perfect reason to leave your readers behind tonight. The beautiful contours on the back of the case provides a third point of touch for ease of handling.
Sleek and Slim.
Adding only 0.255" (6.5mm) to the bare iPhone 6.
The case looks cool; feels cool. It's actually easier to hold than the bare phone.
With Lenzcase you'll never have to worry about 'not' being able to read something.
Always with you . . .
This was Cheryl-Anne's idea. Every time we went 'out' I would pass her my reading glasses to keep in her hand-bag.
Then she got a lovely little black clutch bag and guess what . . . no room for my glasses or hers for that matter! Too bulky !
Then she said, "I need some glasses in back of my phone case".
Following Cheryl-Anne's 'light-bulb' moment over two years ago, we designed and rejected 5 different prototypes, had dozens of 3D prints and CNC units made, refined the mechanics and finalized the spring-loaded action.
Some technical details:
Design and functionality set the Lenzcase apart.
With an exceptionally thin internal aluminum plate, held in place with micro sized aircraft-grade machine screws, the Lenzcase™ gives robust lightweight rigidity. No more "Bendgate" with Lenzcase.
The exoskeleton/skin of high quality poly-carbonate provides the best combination of lightweight strength, beauty, and functionality.
These features combine to form a strikingly beautiful, minimalist protective home for both your phone and your glasses. There is no competition for this unique patent pending product.
Perfect, every time you don't have your glasses.
And . . . there will be a next time!
Combining extraordinary design with subtle practicality, the Lenzcase protects your iPhone and holds your reading glasses in the minimalist recess in a beautifully shaped poly-carbonate case.
Using a clever configuration of coil spring, leaf spring, ball race and carriage, the Lenzcase™ provides the perfect solution for your everyday emergency reading assistance; sitting quietly, unobtrusively within your iPhone case. . . always with you.
We then brought in an Industrial designer to create the CAD. Soon after we had the first of three fully functional CNC prototypes made. Each time we tested, assessed and tweaked the design, just a little bit here and a little bit there.
Necessity is still the mother of Invention
Tooled up and Production ready
This project has involved massive research and development.
We decided very early in this project that we would only go onto crowdfunding once we had a perfectly designed product: reliable, desirable and practical.
Consequently we have invested 1000's of hours and dollars into getting the tool-molds exactly how we want them.
Timeline to delivery!
The Lenzcase Team:
We have been exceptionally lucky to have found and collaborated with some great people.
Daniel Brown (BE. Mechanical/Aerospace, University of Adelaide, 2009), a geniune 3D printing guru.
Richard Wishart (Chartered Accountant), and Richard Maxted have both been invaluable for their creative ideas and mentoring.
Jara Prouza (UniSA, Industrial Design, 2003), for some really sweet Computer Aided Design, great ideas and passionate dedication to seeing this project come to life.
And of course my wife Cheryl-Anne, without who's 'light-bulb' idea we would never have started.
These are the colors we have chosen so far.
There will be more about these possible options in the comments and updates sections as we move forwards.

Risks and challenges
Risks? For the Kickstarter community?
The completion of all the R&D, prototyping and tool-molds has taken the risks out of this project for our supporters.
Lenzcase is a fully functioning product. All we need now are the funds to 'green light' the injection molding production run.
We have put our heart and soul into this project, and now we are ready to go.
With your help we'll be able to fund our first production run.
Many thanks to all who support our Lenzcase Kickstarter project.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
