Rebel...Outlaw...Daredevil...Loner...Loser...Crazy...Finished. Local Boulder, CO stunt-cycle legend Terry Chesebro has been called them all since his stint as an illegal street jumper on the streets of Boulder, Colorado in the mid-seventies. 30 devastating years later- can Terry Chesebro once again don his cape and return to the streets he wandered to become Evil Cheesey one last time?
We are the directors Chris Leising and Jack Hanley. This is our first feature documentary film. We are entirely independent and self-financed- the types of independent, local artists (sorry Spike!) that Kickstarter was CREATED for- and we need YOUR help in bringing Evil Cheesey's story to the screen!
Although frequent collaborators on a host of artistic endeavors, this is Chris and Jack's first debut film.
Visual artist Chris Leising brings a lauded and extensive background in film studies, cinematography, and photojournalism. His work can be found here: http://oortcloud9.com.
Historian and Folklorist Jack Hanley brings an extensive background in writing/journalism, film history, and criticism. His musings about cinema can be found at http://aloneinthedarkcinema.blogspot.com/. His personal page can be found here: http://about.me/JackHanley.
We have experienced a tremendous outpouring of support from those whose lives were touched by Terry's exploits over 30 years ago. For most Boulderites, "Evil Cheesey" is no mere memory- he is a historical institution.
In bringing Evil's story to the screen, we have been generously entrusted with hundreds of hours of original Super 8 and 8mm footage. The shots encompass not only Terry's feats, but capture and represent the people, landscape, and culture of Boulder- and America- in the 1970s. Preserving and transferring this primary footage is vital not just to our narrative- we feel it is an important contribution to the historical record.
We are asking for your help in saving -and sharing- this astonishing footage. The proceeds from this initial successful campaign will finance the securing, cleaning, preserving, and transferring of the original footage to HD transfer, and allow us to begin the next stage of our documentary.
This film- and the legacy of "Evil Cheesey"- simply cannot exist without the support of people like you. We thank you in advance for your passion, zeal, and support of independent cinema. Visit our official Facebook film site for all the latest on the project! www.facebook.com/EvilCheeseyRidesAgain

Risks and challenges
This fundraising opportunity represents the first stage of our mission to bring Evil's story to life. With the special circumstances involved with Terry's unique facility living situations and the vast array of original, archival footage to track down, collect, and preserve, it is simply vital that we acquire the funds necessary to transfer the footage and move on to the next phase of filming Terry's astonishing contemporary story. Although the challenges of Terry's unique situation are daunting, we are determined to do his story justice.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
