Legend Quests "Live" Fantasy Dungeon Adventure game.
"LIVE" theatrical fantasy dungeon crawl adventure game.. Magic, Monsters & Mystery. Featuring Tom Baker
Imagine your favourite fantasy game, whether it’s computer, board, roleplaying or book, then imagine entering that world but for real.
Created with theatrical props, actors ,stage illusions, with your help we want to build a portable adaptable live dungeon crawl gaming experience. Based in Bodiam but coming to London and touring the UK.
The "live" game is a unique team theatre experience, where as the curtains open on the show, any number of dungeon environments will have been created by the actors & crew. Members of the audience will be invited to enter the stage area and take part in encounter scenes, interacting with our actors. As the adventure unfolds, new scenes will be created in this versatile space for audience members to enter and enjoy. The audience are therefore the players in a thrilling, interactive 2 hour adventure.
There are games designed for a small participating audience of 30, where everyone gets to have a go and see the journey to the end, or the Intense immersion game with just 10 players (costumes are provided for this version).
Using theatrical lighting, sets, illusions and sound effects, this will be an experience like no other.
Working with our team of magician friends, actors and prop makers, we will be offering adventures for all ages and genres. Horror, Science fiction and of course fantasy.

The Producer & Creative Director
The Legend Quests "Live' Dungeon is the brainchild of Oliver McNeil. A trained theatre designer, prop maker and scenic artist. He runs a very popular and respected portrait studio that also creates Fantasy images. www.legend-photography.com
It has been his life long ambition to bring fantasy interactive theatre to a wider audience. He also runs and hosts the Fantasy Podcast.
Where is it going to be?
As well as coming to London, the dungeon is designed to tour and it will be traveling around the UK and can be set up in any space of approximately 100 square metres.
It's home will be 10 mins walk from Bodiam Castle. It's just over an hour away from London and we can host adventures here where we also have an amazing camping & Glamping site just on the doorstep.
Q & A about the Dungeon
Q. What happens in the game/ show?
A. It's an interactive theatre game experience. Each of the “Legend Quests” Dungeon Adventures are created from a series of room encounters presented to the audience/players by the storyteller, joined together by a narrative. These rooms are presented using film quality props, scenery, illusion, costumes and professional actors. The storyteller can "freeze" the action at anytime to talk to the players about their next action through the dungeon.
The dungeon rooms are puzzles, problems, events or creatures, that must be dealt with by either all of the players or a selected few. In most games players start with two "lives", which can be lost when something unfortunate or unpleasant happens, creating an air of risk for the players.
Q. Does it involve fighting?
A. Being a Dungeon full of monsters there might be occasions where a fight might occur, however the main emphasis is on storytelling, puzzle/problem solving and immersion. When a fight happens it will be only one of the solutions of that particular encounters and will be conducted under supervision with ultra safe props.
Having said all that, we will be organising Event days where you will be able to be trained by a sword master and be able to fight in our Battle Arena. So if fighting is your thing, we can arrange that for you.
Q. Do I get to role play and be a character?
A. We will be taking the dungeon to all kind of places, from schools, festivals, corporate events and more. At the majority of these performances we do not expect people to role-play, just to get into the spirit of the adventure. However there will be some adventures when we will invite people to wear a costume and play a character, such as selected "Intense" dungeons.
Q. Who is this designed for?
Lovers of adventure! If you like reading, playing or watching fantasy, we know you will also enjoy this experience. We will be designing dungeon adventures for all ages and types, from families with children (over 8 years old), business people for team building days, gamers who would like the thrill of a live experience and anyone who just wants to try a totally unique type of entertainment. The benefit of our system it that it can be altered according to whatever the audience's preferences are.
The age level and type of adventures will be advertised before you book, so you can decide if it appeals to you.
Q. Will Tom Baker be appearing at the shows?
A. With the best will in the world, we can't expect to take an 81 year old living Legend on tour, performing 3 shows a day. We have designed wonderful voice system to make if feel as if Tom Baker is with you protecting and encouraging you along your adventures.
So why do you we need your help?
We need to pay for actors, props, pro grade outdoor housing & and scenery, storage, insurance etc. The goal is not massive, as we know how to work on a budget but if we reach that, our stretch goals are going to be spent on making more monsters, illusions, props, scenery and costumes.
We are dedicated to making this the best experience as we can.
Check out our rewards and lets make this a fantasy a reality.
If you can't back us please share this project with everyone you know.
As part of the rewards you can feature on my Fantasy Podcast. Check out some our previous shows with guest such as Ian Livingstone, Tom Baker, Dan Baines, Knightmare Live, LARP, Marvel UK, Willow Management and coming soon "Hawk the Slayer" Director Terry Marcel.
Risks and challenges
We like to think that the risks are minimal. We already have a great team of actors, a stunning location for the dungeon to be housed and a the skills to build the dungeon.
Also on board is a fantastic costume company, who can provide us with ANY period costume we wish, from Medieval to 1920's.
The only risks are unforeseen but Insurance is of course one of the first things we will be getting.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
