My mother toilet trained my children from birth successfully without using disposable nappies. Her technique involved holding infants to toilet safely several times a day. It required experience of proven traditional cues, effective holds and patience.
I thought to myself: If only we had a special device to hold our babies and toilet train like my mum... so I came up with the idea of an Ecobabyloo. I made prototypes, researched and trialled the Ecobabyloo with Australian families.
In my trials, babies aged 7 weeks to 3 months old happily used the Ecobabyloo, busting the myth that children are only ready to be toilet trained at age 2 or more!
Say Hello! to the Ecobabyloo
The Ecobabyloo is the world's first eco-friendly toilet for children made from child-safe and recyclable materials. Washable, durable and appropriately sized, it makes toilet time for babies and carers clean, simple, fun, effective, interesting and convenient.
We designed the EcoBabyloo to provide carers with the tools to teach kids good toileting habits through daily interaction and play to make toilet training a life enhancing experience of treasured moments for both.
Prior to the 1960s children were toilet trained by age 2. With the rise in use of disposable nappies, being toilet trained is now only by 3 or 3 and a half. We want parents to be free of having to clean poo-ey stinky bottoms of resistant children for years and babies to enjoy being nappy free by age 1-2. We believe that with the Ecobabyloo, this can be the natural, practical, hygienic, economic and sustainable way of meeting children’s toileting needs happily now and for future generations.
It’s our responsibility to care
Sadly, the art and joy of toilet training babies from birth is being lost. Most babies are put into disposable nappies, toilet training only started around 18 months or more with some children attending schools in disposable nappies at age 5, 6 or even 7 to 11!
Toileting is a basic need for all humans, including for babies. If we must eat, we must toilet! We know puppies and kittens can be toilet trained but aren’t sure why people believe that babies can’t be.
We invented the Ecobabyloo package to help parents assist their babies enjoy learning about toilet training from birth and be nappy-free by age 1-2 and not be exposed to the myriad of problems suffered by children wearing nappies, such as nappy rash, sore bottoms, hiding, stigmatisation, urinary tract infections or stool toileting refusal (need for a nappy to toilet)
A child using 6 one-use throw away nappies a day for 2.5 years will use 6000 nappies in 2.5 years. The pulp of 4.5 trees would have been harvested and 2 tonnes of poo & wee laden nappy waste & pollutants caused by its manufacture, transportation & burial created.
Embracing and improving on proven effective traditional techniques, the Zero Waste Ecobabyloo enables babies to be toilet trained by age 1-2, significantly increasing nurturing toilet training responsiveness, effectiveness and reducing nappy waste, landfill and pollution issues
Change through innovation
The Ecobabyloo is an ergonomically designed toilet for babies. It has a scooped high back with sides which ensures that a baby’s head and body are safely supported during toileting from 2-3 months.
The specially designed leg-ramp, upwards-sloping footrest ensures a baby’s legs are in the best position for toileting.
The hands-free Ecobabyloo, its face-to-face interactive design allows carers to communicate effectively when cueing, signalling, responding and so forth. It comes with a stainless steel basin for waste, so easy to clean when used with a little water, that also makes sweet tinkling sounds during toileting to help baby discover their source of wee & poo and carer know when toileting is in progress!
Free with the Ecobabyloo is a USB stick containing an original musical album called Toileting Tunes, two documentaries, articles and videos with tips and tricks for successful toilet training to independence.
This is a wonderful package, which enables carers to meet a baby’s toileting and toilet training needs enjoyably, healthily, hygienically, economically, environmentally and sustainably.

Risks and challenges
We need your support to help educate more parents and carers about how toilet training can improve infant health and well being and reduce dependence on disposable nappies. In order to do this, we need to develop suitable educational resources and provide parents and carers with effective tools.
We want to bring the Ecobabyloo to Australia and to the rest of the world, but really need support in order to spread awareness of the innovation's existence and its wonderful benefits for children, their families, their communities and their environment. The logistics of production, warehousing and international shipping of the Ecobabyloo in its averagely large Box is costly and a major challenge but this is offset by its once off, highly economic purchase and usage which can then be passed on to siblings or other babies compared with years of buying costly one-use throw away nappies, wipes and nappy rash creams for use by only one baby.
Your support and usage will help launch awareness of the EcoBabyloo's innovation to solve current child health care, landfill and pollution problems, its multiple benefits and usefulness as an effective, convenient globally sustainable nurturing cum educational, fun baby toilet training, hygienic resource for use by all parents/carers and for the Ecobabyloo's much more widespread distribution and availability by other online and shop retailers.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
