LeeFest began when Lee broke the rules (in a constructive way) to make something exciting happen. Since then a community of artists, thinkers and do'ers have worked tirelessly to carefully craft the festival.
It now provides opportunities and support to hundreds of creative people working in music, arts or science that have ideas and want to make them happen.

LeeFest is registered as a non-profit social enterprise in the UK.
We do not have any shareholders. Instead we have a board of directors, called The Campfire Cabinet, to make decisions about the way the organisation and festival is run.
The Campfire Cabinet is our name for the board of directors.
Members of this special group can input into important decisions about how the organisation is run and oversee the festivals progress. They also get access to secret areas at the festival.
Once a year we will hold a Campfire Cabinet meeting in London to make decisions about the year ahead. Cabinet members will be able to partake in the discussions and decisions on twitter if they cant make it to London.
After a hard meeting we will probably all deserve a big party - so we'll have one of those too!
Members of the Campfire Cabinet will receive login details to a secret webpage where they can access regular updates from the festival team.
The cabinet webpage will allow members to vote on important decisions throughout the year, such as who plays, how budgets are spent and what fancy dress Lee has to wear :)
Get into secret areas onsite and join in a cabinet meeting around a real campfire! Wear your Campfire Cabinet T-Shirt and be worshipped by everyone.
There is no pressure to get involved in everything (or anything for that matter). You can get choose with the areas that interest you most (Music, or Visual Arts or Finance etc.) and not worry about the bits that dont interest you so much!

Why We Need £50,000
When organisations need to grow they usually raise finance from venture capitalists, or in the case of some music festivals from sponsorship.
We want to safeguard the integrity and uniqueness of LeeFest by keeping it non-profit and sponsor free, so have chosen to raise the money needed for expansion through Kickstarter, giving you creative control of the festival in return.
We will invest the money pledged in growing the festival to 5000 capacity, at which point it will become independently financially sustainable.
We need to hit our target for things like paying artists, securing a new venue (still local), paying for promotion and delivering those all important rewards!

Risks and challenges
There are a few risks associated with the project that may set back the timeline for delivery, however we have a very skilled team who have been working on the festival for 7 years and have dealt with many hiccups along the way.
