Yogurt is good—a healthy, delicious, and convenient food that we all love. And studies are continuing to discover yogurt’s infinite health benefits: boosting our immune system, maximizing our heart health, and strengthening our bones.
When it comes to yogurt, we just can’t get enough..
But not all yogurt is created equal. Many mass-produced brands fill their products with preservatives, artificial flavors, and added sugars—cancelling out most of yogurt’s amazing natural benefits.
The solution is obvious: homemade yogurt. Only then can you control ingredients and guarantee freshness, every time. But making your own yogurt is difficult, right?
Yes. Until now.
Introducing Yomee, the world’s first automatic yogurt maker—giving you fresh, craft-quality yogurt at a third of the cost of store-bought brands.
We began with a simple but powerful question: How can we enable people to make perfect yogurt at home?
Yomee is our answer. A smart yogurt maker that automates and simplifies the yogurt-creation process—letting you decide exactly what goes inside, and lowering costs by a whopping 70%.
With Yomee, creating perfect yogurt every time from the comfort of your home is effortless and foolproof.
Making yogurt with Yomee is extremely simple:
1. Pour in your favorite milk.
2. Drop in a Yomee pod.
3. Select your yogurt type (using the Yomee app)—and go to bed, fresh yogurt is on the way!
When you wake up, enjoy perfect yogurt: fresh, chilled, and ready to eat (now or later)! And since each pod makes 2 servings, share your yogurt or enjoy it throughout the day.
Sky’s the limit when it comes to the different ways people around the world enjoy eating yogurt: ideal for breakfast, as a midday snack, inside your dinner salad dressing—let your imagination run wild!
However you eat yours, our Yomee double-wall insulated cup will keep your yogurt fresh and make eating on the go fun. Better yet, our cup comes with an innovative travel lid—letting you store your favorite toppings separate until you’re ready to mix and eat.
Are you vegan? Lactose intolerant? Love yogurt, but don’t love dairy?
No problem for Yomee. Make 100% dairy-free yogurt: Just use our non-dairy pods together with non-dairy milks—like almond, coconut, soy, or rice milk. A healthy alternative that’s just as good!
*After the campaign, you will be able to select dairy or non-dairy pods with your Yomee kit.
Yogurt is limitless—having as many health benefits as it has preparation styles. Eat it raw, drink it in smoothies, use it to make açaí bowls... Our team has already created hundreds of recipes for the Yomee app, so that you'll never run out of creative food ideas.
Our free Yomee app will be iOS and Android compatible. Besides offering countless yogurt-based recipes, the app lets you select what yogurt style you want your Yomee to make: a thick Greek-style yogurt, a traditional plain yogurt, or a smoothie-style stirred yogurt. Plus, our app keeps you well informed about every stage of the yogurt-making process, alerting you when the yogurt is heating, cooling, incubating, and ready to eat!
Yomee lets you control ingredients, sweetness, and fat content. From the type of milk you use, to how sweet you want your creation to be, to what fruits (if any!) you want to see swimming inside—the choice is finally yours.
And by using our app’s extensive library of original recipes, you’ll get accurate nutritional information for each yogurt dish you make.
Tracking calories? Share the details about what you just ate with your Apple Health app or Google Fit directly from the Yomee app.
We take environmental responsibility seriously. That’s why unlike other pod-based appliances, our revolutionary pods are 100% natural and completely soluble (meaning that once used—poof!—the pod is gone for good). Zero waste for a healthier planet.
Made by our partners in New Zealand, our patented Yomee pods use only the highest-quality live cultures. Each pod is good for 6 months, and each creates 10 oz (2 servings) of yogurt at a time. After our campaign, you will be able to select which pods—dairy or vegan—you want to receive with your Yomee kit.
Out of pods? Order more directly from the Yomee app. Talk about convenient! In future, it will only cost $9.90 for 10 pods (20 servings) or join a subscription to pay even less.
For the curious minds out there, here’s what’s going on behind the scenes: Yomee first boils and stirs the milk for 15 minutes. Next, Yomee cools the milk back down to 115°F (or 46°C—the ideal temperature for live yogurt cultures to thrive). And into this culture-friendly environment, Yomee drops a culture-filled Yomee pod. Some more stirring. Now begins our favorite part: Yomee incubates the milk at a steady temperature for 6 hours, during which the live cultures transform milk into yogurt.
Once the magic is done, Yomee will perfectly chill your yogurt to a cool 50°F (10°C), slowing down the culturing process while developing the delicate flavors that we love fresh yogurt for.
Though your yogurt is ready to eat in just 6 hours, it can happily remain chilled for up to 48 hours.
And what about that pod? No need to throw it out—being soluble, it completely dissolved within the first 10 minutes of the process.
The Yomee yogurt-making kit consists of an automated mixing stand, a dishwasher-safe BPA-free yogurt cup, and a lid that can hold up to 2 toppings separately.

The inspiration for Yomee came in early 2016, while Ashok Jaiswal, our co-founder and CEO, was sipping on a mango lassi at a friend’s dinner party. Having asked if the lassi was made with homemade yogurt, Ashok was surprised to find people wondering if making yogurt at home was even possible. Determined to find this out for himself, Ashok delved into the art and science of yogurt-making—and soon he was outputting so much of the stuff that he had to start sharing his yogurt with family, friends, and colleagues.
Relying on standard at-home yogurt incubators, Ashok quickly became frustrated with how difficult it was to make consistent and reliable yogurt. Many sketches later—and having successfully transformed a common hot plate to both stir and heat milk—the first working concept of Yomee was born.
The initial design for Yomee began in 2016, with the first functioning prototype refined with Yomee graduating the spring 2017 Food-X accelerator program. The current Yomee prototype fully stirs, incubates, and chills yogurt. A flagship creation of Lecker Labs, the team is still perfecting Yomee’s design, app, and pods.
The Yomee founding team consists of two longtime friends—Ashok and Kim—who met while working in Hong Kong, and who share a common love for food, sports, and competitive yogurt eating!
Ashok Jaiswal. Co-founder and CEO, a technologist and hacker by trade, though best known for being the resident yogurt chef in every kitchen. Ashok’s Michelin star–worthy yogurt-making skills have landed him the award for the “most awesome friend to invite to a party to bring delicious yogurt!” Ashok’s life motto: Who needs beer when you can have Yomee yogurt!
Kim Fung Nam, Legal and financial controller with 20 years’ experience in the banking industries of Hong Kong, New York, and Tokyo. This year, Kim decided to “retire,” eager to discover a world beyond banking. Drawn by the dynamism of a startup and Yomee’s vision for the future of homemade yogurt, Kim decided to join Ashok at Lecker Labs. She loves yoga, eating and cooking plant-based foods, and her two adorable Westies: Sunny and Archie. Today, she’s super excited about Yomee’s vegan-yogurt foods and desserts—which she can’t wait to start binging on!
Terry Hope Romero, Cookbook author, vegan chef, recipe developer, seasoned food-industry consultant, and Kickstarter staff alumni—Terry’s vegan ninja superpowers proved indispensable in creating our Yomee Kickstarter campaign and in developing our unique vegan-friendly Yomee pods. She’s also bananas about almond-milk and pistachio yogurt—and she’s famous for her mean cashew-based tzatziki sauce.

Risks and challenges
This will be the first mass production run for Yomee and you amazing backers will be the first to try our yogurt maker right off the line! With the creation of any new product comes some risk, however we are well prepared to deal with these.
Hardware - We have teamed up with reputable manufacturers in China with experience in building kitchen appliances. We have worked with the manufacturers directly from the beginning to design for ease of manufacture. We are confident in the capabilities of our suppliers and their expertise to ensure we deliver a high-quality product.
If any delays occur, which could affect our shipping timeline, we will be completely transparent with our backers and provide regular updates.
Yogurt pods - Our pods are made in New Zealand by a very experienced dairy with an amazing research lab. We have worked them from day one. They have produced best yogurt our team has ever tasted, amazing fruit flavors. They have shipped dairy products around the world and we are working with them to ensure we have satisfied all regulatory requirements.
Mobile app - We are looking to the Kickstarter community to understand which features are most valuable to include in the first build. There are some challenges with developing our app for both iOS and Android simultaneously, however we have an experienced team who are capable of dealing with this.
Shipping and logistics - International shipping (outside the US) can always take longer for backers to receive than local backers. Unfortunately here we are at the mercy of the shipping provider and ask international backers for their patience as their Yomee makes its way to them. Additionally, receivers of Yomee may need to pay customs duty to receive their parcel depending on country import tax requirements.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
